My experience as a volunteer at the hotel was wonderful. They treated me incredibly well and with great respect, and were flexible with scheduling so I could enjoy the place too. Spending time with them gave me a new perspective on the local culture. They are a fantastic team and a lovely family!

My experience with the hotel was absolutely fantastic. Cat ba is a beautiful island with plenty to see, and the host family went out of their way to make me feel at home. The staff room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Work expectations were reasonable and I had fun during all my shifts chatting with my coworkers and customers alike. I would recommend this exchange if you enjoy/want to learn about the hotel work, and want to connect with a great group of people :)

Volunteering at the hotel and the hotel was okay experience. I'm grateful for what I learned about the hotel work, and everything went well with that which was nice. The island is beautiful, and there are great hikes and beaches that you have time to explore. But I didn't experience the wonderful family atmosphere that other reviews talk about. Also the room and bathroom did not match the photos on Worldpackers in any way and were neither that comfortable or hygienic. We had a little misunderstanding with my leaving, so I decided to leave a bit earlier and I understood it was okay.

From the moment you arrived, we and our family treated you well, but you showed irresponsibility by leaving without notice, contrary to the commitment on Wordpacker. We hope you will not repeat this! I loved my time working at the hotel and the hotel! The people were amazing and I really enjoyed working as a waitress. I learned lots of new skills and had a great time working with the people there. Cat Ba Island is a wonderful spot to work.

I stayed 2 months in the hotel as my first volunteering experience ever and I could not have wished for anything else! I found true friends and family there in Cát Bà, this is the perfect place if you are looking for human connection. As for work, everything was super clear and just as planned before my arrival. You will mostly welcome foreign guests, which is nice if you want to practice languages. Everything is done to make you feel at home and part of the family. They will give you the best advices to enjoy the island. Plus, the food is delicious. Thanks again team, I will be back soon!!

The hotel on Cat Ba Island is a highly-rated family-run hotel and the hotel. They are hardworking, dedicated team. Currently their need for volunteers task is for waitressing, bartending, and promoting tours. The team uses a simple effective system for orders and table management, with training provided. Benefits include accommodation in shared modest room, meals, a daily free drink, and the chance for a boat tour if performance is good. Clear communication about days off and expectations is important to avoid misunderstandings as well as understand well the house/business rules beforehand.
