I spent an incredible 7 weeks in this surf lodge. The Hall family is very welcoming and funny. I really enjoyed my time with them and the guests and have many wonderful, funny and warm moments to remember. I will miss the afternoons on the beach and am grateful that I was able to improve my surfing skills considerably along the way (you don't have surf lessons, so you should ideally have surfing experience). Be aware that you have to clean. You will also look after the guests to create a family feeling. If you feel part of the lodge, you will have an unforgettable time here.

Nach einigen wirklich schwierigen Erfahrungen in der Vergangenheit war es eine Freude, dich bei uns zu haben; du hast schnell dazugelernt und September und Oktober für uns alle viel leichter gemacht.
Wir lieben, wie du dich jeden Tag und Abend mit den Gästen beschäftigt hast; das war genau das, was wir uns wünschen, denn wir beherbergen die erstaunlichsten Menschen aus der ganzen Welt – sie lohnen sich und machen viel Spaß.
Wir haben auch geliebt, wie bereit du warst zu arbeiten; ich möchte zu Beginn klarstellen, dass dies eine Reinigungsstelle ist.
In den Sommermonaten ist meine Arbeit sehr intensiv, deshalb möchte ich Freiwilligen diese Gelegenheit geben, zu kommen und zu helfen. In der Hochsaison ist es schwierig, weitere konkrete Informationen zu geben, da mir einfach die Zeit fehlt.
Ich denke, die Beschreibung hier auf world packers, meine To-Do-Liste und der gezeigt zu bekommen, was zu tun ist, ist sehr hilfreich, und ich bin immer da, um gefragt zu werden ;-)
Wir werden dich sehr vermissen und du weißt, dass du jederzeit in der Zukunft kommen und uns helfen kannst; wir hoffen, dich wiederzusehen.

Had the best time with my first volunteering experience at this lodge, it's a magical place that the family Hall had built up here. I was welcomed after the first seconds of my arrival and felt like a part of the family. The tasks are really easy, they don't feel like work at all and if you don't understand something or feel insecure, you can always ask again, communication was super easy. I made so many friends there from all over the world and definitely improved my surfing. Will miss the afternoons at the beach camp, the surfing and all those funny moments in the lodge with the guests :)

My stay at the Peniche Surf Lodge was fabulous! Claire, Duncan and Dane are a loving family. Peniche is a beautiful town with a lot of things to do and see. One of my favorite activities was to go with the guests and the family to the beach to surf. Improving my surfing skills was definitely a bonus! The daily tasks to complete were very easy and quick to do and Claire was also very helpful in teaching me how to clean better. This experience left me a beautiful memory and above all it taught me a lot. I hope to see the Hall family soon and who knows maybe go back to volunteer there again :)

My stay at the Lodge was great! Claire, Duncan and Dane are a lovely family who've created an awesome place in Peniche. The work is a few hours a day and very simple. The Lodge itself is comfortable and very nice. It is a great exchange, and learning how to surf was a bonus! Peniche is a lovely town and the Lodge is in a great seafront location. I will really miss this team and everything Peniche offers!

This is an amazing place! Perfect location! Right by the ocean and so close to grocery stores. Surfing was awesome and Peniche is a beautiful city(: Claire and her family are very sweet and very hardworking! Highly recommend!

Claire and Duncan have a great surf lodge in Peniche! You meet lots of fun, like-minded travellers, and they make you feel very welcome. The tasks are set out clearly - as long as you stick exactly to the list and don't miss things you will have a great time! Difficulties can arise if you forget a couple things too many days in a row… but that's to be expected. My advice would be: prioritise doing a good job of the cleaning tasks (don't rush to get it done!) and the fun to be had will take care of itself! An experience I'll always remember :)

Was a nice experience! The Lodge is in a great location close to the beach and supermarkets. The work was easy and let you have time to explore and surf. Claire and his family are really nice and welcoming. Thanks for everything!!
