I volunteered at this hostel in Marrakesh and had a positive experience. The manager is honest, very respectful, and takes good care of the volunteers, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore Marrakesh and experience the local culture. About the tasks, it's important to be willing to learn, help, and actually work, cause it requires commitment. The hostel offers an enriching exchange, and I recommend this experience for those who are open to actively contributing and adapting to the rhythm of the place.

I stayed for three weeks and wish I could have spent more time! Faical was very welcoming and provided us information on the local customs, things to do and a weekly allowance for breakfast. The work was easygoing (general housekeeping and cleaning tasks), and usually consisted of an hour cleaning in the morning and a few hours at reception in the afternoon. The hostel is in a great location, a short walk to anything you need, and the sunset view from the rooftop was stunning. Faical was a great host, who cares for the volunteers, guests and their experience. Thanks for a lovely stay! :)

Diese Erfahrung war nicht, was ich erwartet hatte; von Anfang an fühlte ich mich nicht wohl. Ein Punkt war, dass sie mir beim Vorstellungsgespräch nie gesagt haben, dass ich bei der Ankunft einen Vertrag unterschreiben müsste, und das war eine Überraschung für mich; dann hatten wir noch andere Dinge und ich sprach mit Faisal und wir kamen zu dem gleichen Schluss, dass er mit mir nicht zufrieden war und deshalb bin ich früher gegangen, aber was den Zeitplan betrifft, halten sie sich an das, was sie dir sagen. Sie befinden sich an einer guten Lage, und das Frühstück, das sie anbieten, ist in einem sehr guten Restaurant. Aber auch wenn die Dinge passiert sind, bin ich ihnen für alles dankbar.

Wir wollten wirklich keine schlechte Bewertung schreiben, um ihr Profil nicht zu schädigen und nicht die Meinung anderer Gastgeber über sie zu beeinflussen. Jimena kam mit einer sehr passiven Haltung, sie war verschlossen, immer in ihrer eigenen Blase, sie wollte nicht mit Gästen oder dem übrigen Personal interagieren. Sie zählte jede zusätzliche Minute, die sie arbeitete. Sie war immer entweder am Telefon oder am Computer. Sie brachte keine positive Energie in den Ort. Von Anfang an hatten wir das Gefühl, dass sie nicht beabsichtigte, ihre Freiwilligenarbeit bei uns zu beenden.

Ich habe meine Zeit im Hostel ziemlich genossen. Die Arbeit war ziemlich einfach, und der Ort war ziemlich komfortabel zum Verweilen, nahe der Hauptattraktionen, und es liegt auch innerhalb der Medina. Faical war sehr hilfsbereit, und die Aufgaben waren ziemlich klar und leicht zu navigieren. Er hat uns auch kostenlose Frühstücksgutscheine zur Verfügung gestellt, was wirklich nett von ihm war. Ich hatte das Gefühl, die volle Erfahrung der Arbeit an der Rezeption nicht ganz zu erleben, da nicht viele Gäste während meines Aufenthalts da waren, was verständlich war, da das Hostel gerade erst eröffnet hatte.

El hostel cuenta con una excelente ubicación, se encuentra cerca de atracciones turisticas como la Medina y el zoco, también tiene unas vistas maravillosas y las camas son super confortables. En mi estadía no hubo mucho flujo de huespedes lo que hacía que mis horas fueran estando en la recepción ante cualquier eventualidad pero sin mucho por hacer.. pero en los días que hubieron grandes grupos, pude conocer a una persona increíble que cocinaba para ellos (: Estuve sola como voluntaria la gran mayoría del tiempo. Cualquier duda que tenga algún/a viajero/a, feliz de comentarla

Ich kann aus deiner Bewertung erkennen, dass du eine tolle Zeit hattest und dich beim Freiwilligenarbeit mit uns engagiert hast. Nichtsdestotrotz solltest du wissen, dass eine Bewertung von 3 für WP negativ ist; dies könnte Auswirkungen auf uns haben und uns wahrscheinlich dazu bewegen, WP zu verlassen und ähnliche Freiwilligenmöglichkeiten für Reisende, die unser schönes Land entdecken möchten, nicht anzubieten. Berücksichtige diese Punkte und vergleiche Hostels in verschiedenen Ländern oder gar Kontinenten nie miteinander. Denk einfach an die Erfahrung, die du insgesamt gemacht hast.

The host Faical is a very respectful, responsible and caring person. He was making sure that I was feeling welcomed at any time. The work was a lot but he told me that beforehand. I can recommend this place if you want to explore Marrakesh and get the feeling of living and working in this city. The hostel is very nice and the host is very friendly.

En primera instancia todo fue bien, Faisal fue respetuoso y cumplía con lo señalado, el problema es cuando hay reservas de grupos grandes, en base a mi experiencia no hace una buena organización de los cuartos y puede que te toque dormir en recepción (un lugar abierto en donde pasan huéspedes y con cámaras ) , .. Faisal no acepta críticas constructivas, le sugeri que podría hacer una mejor gestión con los cuartos para que en un futuro no tuviera problemas con voluntarios lo que conllevó a que el pusiera fin a mi voluntariado 12 días antes de lo acordado.

In my case, I decided to extend my stay because, at first, I really enjoyed the experience as a volunteer. However, when groups started arriving, the atmosphere changed, and the work became more demanding, which made me feel uncomfortable and exhausted. The lack of communication and some misunderstandings also affected my experience. Finally, in agreement with Faical, I decided to end my stay earlier than planned, as my energy and motivation had changed considerably. I would have liked to share more, but we didn't quite connect. Either way, I'm grateful for the experience. :)

I spent 2 meaningful weeks in the hostel. I work 5 hours per day, normally 1 hours cleaning in the morning and 4 hour reception. The distribution of the time depends on days. The hostel is a nice environment, there is no other staff and less than 8 guests when I stayed there. Faical provided me 35 dirham per week for breakfast, plus I can use the kitchen and some food in the fridge. The hostel is at the prime location of the hostel tourism centre. Near bahia palace.

My time at the hostel was really good. The environment is super chill and familiar. My stay was during the begining of the season, so there were not many guests but to me that was something ok, because I could enjoy times of calmness. The hostel is super well located, the rooms are good and Faical is really nice and respectfull. I felt welcomed like I was home. The tasks were simple and the hours were followed, just be aware that the schedule is split during the day, so a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. My favorite time of the day was sunset at the rooftop. It's precious!
