Pasé en el hostel un mes y medio de maravilla, el hostel es hermoso, el ambiente es super relajado con buena energía, la gente del staff es excepcional y van a estar siempre en mi corazon. forme amistades, conocí muchisima gente y todos los dias me divertí. solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento para fernando y toda la gente del hostel por hacer la experiencia inolvidable, por hacerme sentir segura siempre y por acompañarme en cada paso. los voy a extrañar muchisimo a todos!!!!

Hermosa experiencia viví en el hostel, Fernando es lo más, super amable y comprensivo con todas las situaciones. Siempre se cumplieron los horarios y tiempos de trabajo pautados. Me llevo a todo el staff del hostel en el corazón, me hicieron pasar un momento hermoso y unico, muy agradecida con todos. Si vuelvo a costa rica claramente pasaré a dar una vuelta y saludar!! Pura vida <3

The hostel war meine erste Erfahrung als Freiwillige. Ich danke Fer, dem Gastgeber, für die Möglichkeit und die Lernmöglichkeiten. Die Aufgaben variierten je nach Zeitplan; ich musste hauptsächlich die Nachtschicht übernehmen, die Kunden bedienen, Cocktails zubereiten und die Kasse führen. Es waren sehr lustige Monate! Ich habe schöne Erinnerungen an die anderen Freiwilligen und an die Leute, die dort arbeiten, mitgenommen :) Ich habe auch den Strand sehr genossen. Die Jugendherberge hat eine unschlagbare Lage! Moskau und Miguel, großartige Begleiter für Spaziergänge und Strandabenteuer <3

Por un lado el lugar es hermoso, el intercambio justo, hice buenos amigos y conecte con la naturaleza. Pero más allá de eso el ambiente era muy machista y recibí muchísimas faltas de respeto, sobre todo de los clientes del bar pero también de algunos miembros del staff, Fernando nos usa a las voluntarias como mercancía para que los borrachos del pueblo vayas a tomar y mirarnos como si fuéramos un cacho de carne. Me sentí muy desprotegida. No lo recomiendo.

The location is beautiful, facility is clean and work is fun, clearly communicated and good benefits. They provide everything you need and you feel very welcomed and taken care of. They invited me to really be part of the hostel and also the everyday life of the place. Big plus is the yoga studio and teacher, as well as the people you are working with in the bar! A big challenge was one of the guys in the kitchen who was crossing my boundaries at the beginning of the stay, and I did not feel comfortable enough to tell the manager. However, the time here was really special and beautiful.

I loved it! Fernando was very friendly, accommodating, and flexible when needed. I got there during the storm, so there were some humidity issues but we worked through it. The place is beautiful, the beach although it's a little tricky to get them to let you in as a local, is the most gorgeous thing. Everywhere was accessible with the bike. The locals are very nice, the volunteers I met were amazing, aswell as the overall team. The cooks, bartender, maintenance guy, owner, and dogs were very fun to work with. The only unpleasant person was the cleaning girl but other than that it was perfect.

I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel. I am going cherish all the great memories I have made over my time at the hostel. The people who work there are amazing and I am truly going to miss them. The only thing I wished I would have done differently was being better at Spanish, it would have helped, but I still had an amazing time
