Meine drei Wochen im Lodge gingen äußerst schnell vorbei! Die Familie ist liebenswert und so herzlich. Ich kam mit keinen besonderen Fähigkeiten und sie waren äußerst geduldig mit mir, was mir ermöglichte, viel zu lernen. Es war großartig zu erleben, wie das Leben im Karoo ist.

Unter den Sternen, erhitzt durch das Leuchten des Feuers, summt das Haus mit einer Energie, so ansteckend, dass es dich zum Lächeln bringt und du niemals gehen willst. Die Aufgaben sind lustig und kreativ, und sie sorgen dafür, dass die Arbeit zu deinen Gaben passt und zu dem, was du gerne tust. Es gibt so viel Freundlichkeit, Offenheit und Lachen, dass du dich sofort zu Hause fühlst. Es ist nicht nur eine Erfahrung—es ist Familie. Ich habe meine Zeit hier wirklich genossen und fühle mich dankbar für jeden Moment.

Der Aufenthalt in der Lodge war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung. Die Familie ist SEHR freundlich und herzlich, ebenso wie Ernest, der tagsüber im Haus arbeitet und immer gern Geschichten über seine Zulu-Kultur geteilt hat. Max, Jack und Rox, die Teenager im Haus, waren alle so fantastisch darin, mir zu helfen, wann immer ich Hilfe brauchte, und mich in alles hineinzunehmen, und Justin und Freyni waren so freundlich und flexibel mit den Arbeitszeiten. Ich konnte nach meinem eigenen Zeitplan arbeiten und die Social-Media-Seiten aufbauen. Die Unterkunft war auch großartig. Sehr empfehlenswert. P.S. Ihre Hunde, besonders Badger, sind die süßesten von allen.

I had a really lovely time at the lodge, it was absolutely perfect for me as a change of pace from hectic backpacking. The accommodation, food etc. was all very comfortable and generous. I really enjoyed the tasks that I was set which included tinkering with the tractor, building fences, gardening, Helping to repair the road and other general jobs. We also went on several trips to the local towns & Justin slowed me to accompany him on a research trip, which was v cool. It was very nice to be in a family environment, exchanging stories and jokes over yummy meals and walks. Would highly recommend!

If you are a traveler and are looking for an unforgettable adventure, this is the ideal place for you! A unique experience, waking up every day with a wonderful view of the mountains and to the sound of excellent classical music played on the piano, each day with a different spetaculum sunset and with starry sky. The tasks are diverse and with the possibility of choosing what you prefer to do, with flexibility of schedules, always accompanied by a lovely company and with a helper who is worth more than a teacher, to help you with any clarification you need. I recommend it with my eyes closed

Hei. I was there for 2 1/2 weeks in March 2024 and can highly recommend it. A wonderful, warm-hearted family who take care of everything. You get fantastic food, have your own bathroom and bedroom, bed is mega cosy. The farm is in a lovely quiet place and it is so peaceful there. In the morning and during the day you are woken up by the piano of one son, so lovely. (Max 😊🙌) There is really a lot to do on the farm, especially a lot of renovation in the craft. I have redesigned the gardens and done some creative work. So you have to go there, highly recommended. ❤️

I had a wonderful time at the lodge! My task was to get their old Bedford truck running and we were able to complete that task by the end of my stay. I also helped Freyni with different projects for the guesthouse and was always involved in whatever was happening in their home. They made sure I was able to experience some of the local towns, attractions, and national parks to have a full and fulfilling experience in South Africa. The whole family is incredibly kind and welcoming and I can't wait to see them again :)
