Insgesamt würde ich nicht empfehlen, im Hippie Hostel zu volontieren, da die allgemeine Stimmung sehr enttäuschend war und ich mich dort unwohl fühlte. Obwohl die Arbeit sehr einfach war (nur 2-3 Reinigungsarbeiten am Morgen), fiel es mir schwer, andere junge Leute in diesem Hostel kennenzulernen, und es erschien mir gar nicht gesellig. Ich wurde in das größte gemischte Gemeinschaftsschlafzimmer gesteckt, was ich normalerweise nicht stören würde, aber ich stellte fest, dass die einzigen Personen, die ins Hostel kamen, ältere Männer waren. Außerdem war es im Rahmen meines Volunteerings vereinbart, dass ich eine Mahlzeit pro Tag bekommen würde, und bei meiner Ankunft wurde dazu nichts gesagt.

Die Herberge ist klein, und ich war der einzige Freiwillige, also beachten Sie, dass Sie, um Sprachen zu üben, versuchen müssen, mit den Gästen zu sprechen. I really enjoyed my stay in Hippie Hostel, the duties were easy to carry and the staff was very kind with me. I had to work a couple of hours per day and I received accomodation and food. Chania is a lovely place that I enjoyed a lot!

All I had to do was to clean for 2-3 hours a day, everything was just as discussed before my trip. You share a room with other travelers, which is a great opportunity to meet them. There's also a shared kitchen and a roof terrace for you to enjoy. The hostel is just 3 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from the center of Chania. It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I would highly recommend it :)

I had fun! The location is very good, and the hostel soooo beautiful!!! People were very nice, the host is very nice and helpful. I agree with previous volunteer about the work. It wasn't what i applied for, but it was nothing hard. I did the cleaning of the hostel nothing to detailed, on my own terms when it comes to working hours. I made breaks when i wanted and cleaned when i felt is the best for me. It took me max of 4 hours if not less to finish everything, so i would say that it is pretty flexible. The guests of the hostel are also nice people so i didn't have bad experiences with anyone.

The hosts were very friendly and made me feel welcome, however, upon arrival the project had changed entirely from what I had agreed to online. I had agreed to 4 hours of bar work, 5 nights a week, in the evening, with 2 days off a week and 3 meals a day provided. When I arrived I was told the bar was closed so I'd be cleaning the whole hostel alone every day, in the middle of the day, only 2 days off for the whole time I was there, and no food provided. I did continue for 11 days, but after returning after my one day off to find nobody had cleaned I felt taken advantage of. It's also lonely.
