Schon bei meiner Ankunft wurde ich sehr gut aufgenommen; sie holten mich am Flughafen ab und brachten mich zum Zeitpunkt meiner Abreise zurück, die Arbeiten waren einfach und sie haben mir immer geholfen, außerdem konnte ich Kontakte zu Einheimischen knüpfen, etwas von ihrer Kultur kennenlernen, ihren Traditionen, was zu den besten Aspekten dieser Erfahrung gehörte.

Es gab nie eine feste Person, an die ich mich bei Fragen wenden konnte. Ich bekam Informationen über Schnorcheln und andere Aufgaben von verschiedenen Freiwilligen und Studenten. Wie bei anderen Bewertungen stimme ich zu, dass es unorganisiert war. Was mich frustrierte, war 30 Minuten zu arbeiten und die nächsten 4 Stunden an einem Picknicktisch zu sitzen. Im Urlaub hatte ich gehofft, mehr zu tun, stattdessen fühlte es sich so an, als würde die große Gruppe von uns unsere Zeit verschwenden. Es gab viele Praktikanten und andere Freiwillige; das Zentrum brauchte nicht so viele Leute, wie sie hatten.

This experience was great to meet locals and other volunteers, and working with turtles was also amazing ! (learning about turtles, putting the eggs in the sand, doing visits, cleaning the tanks, seeing baby turtles…) The work is usually until from 9am to 1pm but the hours are flexible, and the afternoons as well as the weekends are free. The only downside is that when there was not many visitors, we just chatted and waited around, and I expected more organised work. I still loved the experience and would definitely do it again !

Great experience. Work was chill, you wake up early sometimes (6:30-7:30 am) to collect seaweed for the turtles, but otherwise you're there from 9 am - 1 pm. You clean tanks for the first ~30 minutes, and then you lead tours on a rotating basis - usually about 2 per day. Then, after 1 pm, you get the rest of the day to do whatever you want. They give you a free surf lesson and amazing accommodation, so it's a great time. Obviously, working with the turtles is the greatest thing ever, they're all super cute and you'll fall in love with them. Finally, all of the staff is friendly and wonderful.

Es war wunderbar zu lernen, wie man Schildkröten schützt, und lokale Kollegen sowie andere Freiwillige kennenzulernen. Glücklicherweise habe ich dieses Jahr die letzte Gruppe junger Schildkröten getroffen.

A really cool experience with plenty of free time to still explore bali. i learned a lot and met great people, plus the driver Dody is a super nice guy! however it was disorganized with communication at times (for example, i was given the wrong phone number for the driver so airport pickup was quite hectic). also, if you are just looking to come to bali you can do so for MUCH cheaper than the weekly rate they charge. but if you are hoping to learn about turtles/ecotourism or just want to have something to do during the days then this is not a bad experience whatsoever. i enjoyed my time!

The things that are written are those that will actually be done, nothing more, nothing less. The best thing for me was meeting other people from other parts of the world, learning more about the local culture and obviously dealing with sea turtles, and helping in their the project.

Even though it's rainy season, you get to learn a lot about our friends in the ocean. It ranges from cleaning the tanks and touring people around, to sudden emergency rescues to save a the project. My favorite was collecting seaweed, cause you'll basically drive out with a boat and collect seaweed while snorkeling, which is super fun. There's nothing better than spending a day with turtles and talking with the staff. Although, next time I return, It'll be during june/july, so I can see all the hatchlings etc.😁
