This was definetly an unique experience! I slept in a shipping container next to geese and cooked outside with my daily companions: the flies. My daily task was to cut grass for the super adorable donkeys but that wasn't the only task. There's always something to do on the farm therefore it never gets boring and you won't get sick of monotone work (I even learned how to groom dogs). I enjoyed being surrounded by so many sweet animals (bunnies, cats, the donkeys etc.) and always being outside. After work you can use the pool or discover the area around & go to the farm :)

Alles in allem habe ich meinen vierwöchigen Aufenthalt auf dem Hof genossen. Meine Arbeit konzentrierte sich hauptsächlich auf die Tiere, zum Beispiel das Bauen von Gehegen für verschiedene Tiere oder Käfige für Schlangen. Ich hatte auch die tägliche Aufgabe, einige Pflanzen zu gießen, das Wasser der Gänse zu wechseln und zusammen mit einem anderen Mädchen, das dort war, sich um einige Ferkel zu kümmern. Die Arbeit war manchmal ziemlich hart, aber durchaus machbar, und ich war normalerweise gegen zehn Uhr vormittags fertig. Andere Menschen, die nur für kurze Zeit blieben, hatten jedoch wenig bis keinen Kontakt zu den Tieren. Wenn du eine unvollkommene, rustikale Unterkunft im Camp-Stil magst, könnte dies etwas für dich sein.

My experience was very short as I left on the same day I arrived. In my opinion it might of worked out if I would have had a different room. Although I was honest and said that the room that I was put in I couldn't stay due to many reasons, the host didn't really help me with that problem. The animal situation is in my opinion in some cases difficult. I do think that the host is trying her best. It just didn't work out for me.

Es tut mir leid, Tami! Ich bin so an Outback und Outdoor-Leben gewöhnt, dass ich manchmal vergesse, dass es nicht für jeden bestimmt ist. Wir haben unseren Auswahlprozess verbessert, damit Bewerber genau verstehen, was sie vor der Ankunft zu erwarten haben.
Wir lieben hier wirklich unsere einheimischen Tiere, besonders die Frösche und Geckos — sie sind ein wesentlicher Teil unserer Umwelt und eine Freude, sie um uns zu haben! 🐸🦎

Despite the 2 star review, I enjoyed the farm by itself. I stayed for a little over 2 weeks and was mainly responsible for pulling gras out of the ground, and cutting bamboo/bananas. It's exhausting work but reasonable for farm work. Others, who stayed longer, had significantly more contact with animals. I stayed in both a shipping container (cyclone safe, not rain proof) and a room with a talking parrot. Both spaces were reasonably clean and insect-proof. My problem lay with the host who did not communicate clearly and never seemed to answer a concrete question.
