Ich habe mein Freiwilligenprojekt in Santa Catalina mit einem glücklichen Herzen beendet. Ich kam mit vielen Erwartungen an, und alle wurden übertroffen; ich gehe sogar mit einer Familie. Danke an meine Gastgeber, dass sie mir das Gefühl gegeben haben, so wohl zu fühlen, für ihr Vertrauen, für die Gespräche und für die gute Energie jeden Tag. Wir haben auf besondere Weise eine Verbindung aufgebaut, und das machte meinen Aufenthalt sehr angenehm.
Santa Catalina gab mir Ruhe, Meer und vor allem Zeit, um mit mir selbst in Verbindung zu treten. Ich gehe dankbar und mit dem Wunsch, zurückzukommen.
Ich kann es zu 100% jedem empfehlen, der nach einer ruhigen Erfahrung mit guter Energie sucht!

Vielen Dank! Es war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung! Thomas, Iris, Tayler und Helena, ihr seid wunderbare Menschen! Wir haben das Ehrenamt wirklich genossen. Wir haben Pizza gemacht, einen neuen Hühnerstall, ihre großartigen Freunde getroffen und Teil ihrer Familie geworden. Die Herberge hatte alles, was wir brauchten, eine großartige Küche, frisches Obst, viele Bananen, bequeme Betten und ein Badezimmer. Was für ein wunderbarer Ort ❤️❤️❤️

I had the most amazing stay with Iris and Thomas! Working in their restaurant in the evenings was such a great experience. I really enjoyed making pizzas and being part of the team. It also gave me the perfect balance, since I had time during the day to relax at the beach and explore Santa Catalina. I met so many lovely people during my stay, and their son Tyler even taught me how to surf, which was such a highlight! Iris and Thomas made me feel like part of the family, and I truly feel like I've made friends for life here. I can't wait to come back the next chance I get!

The month I spent there was a very enriching experience! Working at the pizzeria was fun and I gained quite a few cooking skills! Iris and Thomas were super nice and understanding which made my stay enjoyable! Even though it was a pretty calm month (July), the weather was pretty nice and the people I met were all truly amazing! I would definitely come back if I had the chance to!

So this was probably my favorite volunteering I've done yet. The hosts are the most lovely people you'll ever meet and speak both Spanish and English. Don't be afraid to ask, they're always ready to help:) In low season (about May to October), be aware that there are not many hostel guests or tourists in Santa Catalina. On the other hand, this gave me an opportunity to get to know a bunch of locals, practise my Spanish and enjoy the stunning nature without the crowds. I'm already missing the whole pizzeria team and hope to see you again in the future!♥️ Graciaaas!

Volunteering at the hostel in Panama was a truly special experience for me. The place is beautiful, and I immediately felt at home thanks to the incredible hosts, Thomas and Iris. They treated me like family, and I'm so grateful for their warmth and generosity. I learned how to make delicious pizza, and even though it was low season and things were a bit quiet, I still had a lot of fun and picked up some valuable skills. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the surrounding nature made it all even more magical. I'm really thankful for the time I spent there. see u! ❤️

Mi experiencia en el hostel Hostal fue muy enriquecedora. El lugar está rodeado de naturaleza, ideal para descansar y desconectar, sobre todo en temporada baja cuando el pueblo está muy tranquilo. Las tareas dwl voluntariado fueron sencillas. Iris y Thomas fueron muy buenos anfitriones. Iris cocina delicioso, sus pizzas son espectaculares y siempre se tomaron el tiempo para asegurarse de que estuviera cómoda. Me alegra mucho haber compartido tiempo ahí, fue una experiencia cálida y auténtica. ¡Lo recomiendo muchísimo!

Cómo estar en familia! Iris y Thomas te tratan como si ya te conocieran, y eso lo dice todo. El voluntariado es sencillo y cómodo. Teylor, Gise, Iris y Thomas lo hacen divertido. Muchas gracias familia!

I had an amazing time volunteering with Iris and Thomas. They are both incredibly kind and caring, which made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The whole experience was enriching, and I learned a lot about cooking and improved my spanish. If you have the chance to volunteer with them, I highly recommend it – it's a truly rewarding experience!🙈

My volunteer experience in Thomas & Iris hostel was truly amazing! They are both super kind, openminded people with a lot of life experience who together are a great team and incredible hosts! I loved working together with Iris around the hostel and learning new cooking recipes from her (she cooks super delicious and makes great pizzas!). I enjoyed my time in Santa Catalina so much, I felt welcome here right from the beginning and I'm happy to have found a place that feels like home.☺️ I'll really miss this hostel and the people and I'm glad that I had this wonderful experience here!
