Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to showcase our turtle conservation work and daily activities at the turtle conservation center.
Promote ongoing volunteer programs and share inspiring success stories that encourage others to join our mission.
Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally, providing clear information about our programs, conservation activities, and volunteer opportunities.
Grow our social media audience and increase follower engagement through strategic content planning and meaningful community interaction.
Collaborate with the team to capture authentic photos and videos from the field, documenting daily turtle care routines, tank maintenance, feeding sessions, beach patrols, hatchling releases (when available), conservation education, and volunteer experiences.
Assist with hands-on turtle conservation work, including cleaning tanks, feeding turtles, monitoring hatcheries, maintaining enclosures, supporting rehabilitation efforts, participating in beach clean-ups, awareness programs, and releasing baby turtles when available as part of conservation efforts.
Develop content calendars that highlight program milestones, conservation activities, educational information, special turtle releases, and behind-the-scenes moments.
Monitor social media analytics to optimize content performance and maximize reach.
Share all media and content with the organization for archival and promotional purposes.
Maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging across all platforms.
As a Social Media Promoter for our volunteer organization, you will work four days a week to create, schedule, and share engaging content across our social media platforms to raise awareness and attract volunteers.
Your tasks include managing posts about ongoing projects, volunteer stories, and upcoming events; interacting with followers by responding to comments and messages; monitoring social media trends and analytics to optimize reach; and collaborating with the team to develop promotional campaigns. You will also document volunteer activities through photos and videos to keep our audience connected and informed.
With three days off each week, you have ample time to explore and enjoy the rich culture and natural beauty of Sri Lanka, balancing work with personal enrichment.
Work hours may sometimes vary depending on project needs, weather conditions, and conservation priorities. Volunteers will be informed and updated in advance regarding any schedule changes or special activities.
Volunteers are expected not to smoke or drink alcohol in the homestay accommodations.
They should show respect to their fellow volunteers and host families, and always follow the laws and cultural rules of Sri Lanka.
