Programa detallado

The house needs plenty of love, and there are lots of different projects planned. Depending on your skills and interests, some of the work may include:
Building a shower room
Building and painting walls
Converting a closet into a toilet room
Installing a fireplace
Insulating ceilings
Building snowboard and ski racks
Building a rubbish/recycling shelter
General carpentry and repairs
Painting and finishing
Other renovation and creative DIY projects as they come up

We're excited about this project because you'll actually see the house transform during your stay. There will be plenty of opportunities to use your existing skills, share ideas and learn about traditional Japanese homes and construction.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Previous hands-on experience is essential. We're particularly interested in people who:

Have experience with carpentry, construction, renovation or serious DIY
Are confident using hand and power tools
Can work safely and responsibly
Have a practical, problem-solving mindset
Take pride in doing things properly
Can work independently when needed
Are happy to work alongside us and get stuck in
Are friendly, respectful and easy-going

When applying, please tell us about your previous experience and the types of projects you've worked on. Photos of previous work are very welcome.

ACCOMMODATION

You'll have your own private bedroom in the house and will live with us, Emily and Isaac. You'll share the kitchen, toilet and shower with us.

Free accommodation with Utilities, WiFi and basic toiletry included.

You will be responsible for your own food and cooking.

You'll also have access to your own car, which you're welcome to use during your free time. This makes exploring region much easier. You MUST have a valid International Driver's Permit.

Actividades & Turnos

We're thinking of approx. 20hrs/week, but we're flexible about how those hours are arranged.

We're happy to discuss the number of days and hours that work best for everyone. We want this to feel like a cultural exchange and enjoyable experience, rather than a rigid work schedule.

The minimum stay is 2 weeks, and we'd be happy to host you longer if it works well for both sides.

Couples are very welcome!

It's completely fine if only one person in the couple has previous renovation or DIY experience. There are plenty of simpler projects and general jobs around the house that the other person can help with.
