Me encantó mi tiempo con THO. Aprendí mucho durante mi tiempo allí. Todos estuvieron siempre dispuestos a ayudarme y tuve la oportunidad de probar cosas que nunca podría hacer en mi país de origen. El trabajo no siempre se sintió como voluntariado, porque hubo momentos en que no había mucho que hacer. Creo que los futuros voluntarios deberían tenerlo en cuenta. Sólo puedo recomendar esta experiencia a cualquier voluntario. La SVO tiene un impacto verdadero y positivo en las comunidades de Chamazi al ofrecer enseñanza a los niños en edad preescolar. Mi experiencia de voluntariado de 21 días con la Samaritan Volunteers Organization en Chamazi, la organización, fue realmente transformadora. La calidez de la comunidad y la dedicación del coordinador del programa hicieron que me sintiera seguro, bienvenido y apoyado desde el primer día. Enseñar y pasar tiempo con los niños abrieron mi corazón y me ayudaron a crecer más allá de mi zona de confort. Mi experiencia con THO fue una de las más significativas de mi vida. Como estudiante de tercer año de medicina, me uní al programa hospitalario, principalmente en pediatría, y lo encontré tanto educativo como revelador. Los médicos y las enfermeras fueron acogedores, solidarios y alentaron la práctica supervisada. Más allá del hospital, compartí momentos inolvidables con personas increíbles a través de safaris, viajes a Zanzibar, recorridos por la ciudad y actividades vespertinas. En casa, la calidez de Angela y sus comidas deliciosas nos hicieron sentir que nos cuidaban. También agradezco al Dr. William, quien siempre estuvo presente y me apoyó. ¡Realmente recomiendo este programa!

This experience was absolutely amazing, it exceeded all of my expectations! I can't say one bad thing about it. The other volunteers I met are really great and interesting people, my host family was always very kind and supportive (even the neighboring host family was so sweet towards me). The doctors and nurses at the hospital also love to help and educate students. We had a different activity organized every day, it's a great opportunity to meet other volunteers. And Dr William is amazing, he is always very helpful, kind, great at communicating and flexible.

I spent 3 weeks volunteering with the Samaritan organization, and it was a lifetime experience! You will not come back the same person as you were before, the kids were amazing, we always spent great time together. The staff also help you with anything you need and you get very tasty homemade food 3 times a day, already missing it all 🥹 hope to see you again next year!

This experience was one of the most amazing and fulfilling experience I've ever done in my life. I learnt a lot of things about healthcare and grew more mature. The hosts were really welcoming. (Thank you Asha for everything! 🫶🏼) Overall, I would really recommend it for anyone wanting to work in the medical field, no matter the age or level of study.

I had the privilege of volunteering in chamazi for 3 weeks. I had a truly incredible experience, the kids are truly amazing and eager to learn. The kids love the volunteers and are always keen to interact, we had so much fun dancing and chatting after class!🥰 The community is very welcoming, I met some amazing people and felt safe for the duration of my stay. The living situation was very comfortable, I was in one of the apartments with a shower and drop toilet en-suite. Food was similar each day but very tasty! An incredible organisation that will have a lasting impact on me. Asante Chamazi!
