This was my first worldpackers experience, and I had a magical time. What made this time so special was the amazing friendships I made with my 6 fellow volunteers. The staff at the Center made our stay equally as amazing, by planning parties for us, taking us on a special dinner excursions. The other volunteers and I planned movie nights, game nights, and talked late into the evening. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was awesome (especially breakfast)!! The work is clearly structured. There are 3 shifts: 6am-12:30pm, 8am-2pm, 3pm-9pm. I'm forever grateful for my time here

The highlight of my time at the Center was the other volunteers I met and worked with. It truly is a community that you become part of, in which the people are kind, supportive and encouraging. The growth that I experienced here is something that I will be grateful for for a long time. I worked as a kitchen hand and server, I cooked, baked and practised my german. There is some room for improvement, which I have communicated with the host, which will help to keep all volunteers safe and well there.

I had a great experience in the Center ! The place is really beautiful and the room for the workys is very pretty and comfortable ! Food was also good, a little repetitive sometimes but very tasty. About the tasks, they were a little exhausting sometimes (especially Housekeeping and Gardening). Negative points : sometimes you were alone doing the work, which increased the difficulty and the responsibility of it, and also I had the impression that only girls were doing all the cleaning work :/ (guys can also clean remember! ). Despite that, I had an amazing time with the others workys ! :))

My time at the Center didn't go as expected, but was still an enjoyable experience due to friendly staff and other wonderful volunteers. However, the expected role that I was to carry out didn't align with the tasks I actually had to complete. I signed up to be a bartender, but upon arrival, I soon learned “ the challenge of the Center,” is to undertake different roles. These include kitchen, hand, service, housekeeping, Gardening. I wasn't happy about the lack of transparency regarding the roles, especially since this was something I'd communicated with them from the start. So, Just a heads up.

Es casi gracioso otra vez, si no fuera tan triste... te informamos por escrito con anticipación sobre las varias tareas, incluso hicimos una videoconferencia contigo, donde una vez más explicamos exactamente qué tareas son en Sagasfeld Waiting for you, señalamos por adelantado que tienes que hablar un poco de alemán para el trabajo en el servicio en el restaurante, no sirvió de nada y solo porque no nos escuchaste correctamente, nos das 3 estrellas... ¿no podrías inventarlo? :-) Es lo que es, todavía hiciste un gran trabajo, incluso si fue completamente diferente de lo que esperabas antes... pero ¿sabes qué? The 6 hours work a day was strangely draining and I'm used to 12+. If you are coming for yoga/ the Center I wouldn't recommend. I learnt about some the Center from Dr Paul but due to our meal times and eating leftovers for lunch it's impossible to follow an Ayurvedic diet. My first room was amazing and everything was so clean. It is in a very remote area, this can be nice to be out of big cities. Andreas H, Sarah, Dr Paul and Lea (yoga teacher) were all very lovely and spent time with us volunteers. These people and the volunteers are what made it so great, there was a great sense of community.

Es muy importante que los voluntarios no tengan falsas expectativas antes de la llegada. Por eso me gustaría subrayar y repetir la declaración de Mia sobre el tema de la comida. De hecho, no hay comida ayurvédica para los empleados todos los días. Hay desayuno, almuerzo y cena gratuitos, y refrescos. Y es verdad que a la hora del almuerzo podría haber «solo» una ensalada o una sopa. Por la tarde también hay fruta, bizcocho y galletas. El catering es bueno, pero por favor no esperen que cocinemos dietas ayurvédicas especiales para ustedes o preparar comidas a la carta. Un anfitrión no es Hotel Mama y estamos con Workaway y no con Holidayaway. Esto a veces es olvidado por los voluntarios :-)

If you are looking for a peaceful nature place and improve your German come her! They offer you an amazing share room, bonfires, yoga classes, an art room where you can paint, play instruments... space for you and very good food with the quantity you want. However, they don't know what is permaculture and don't offer holistic therapies. The shifts are ok, tired, but good. I learn and enjoy in the kitchen and, in my case, I loved work in the garden. Arrived there is a little bit complicated, you are in the deep Germany but the people around are very eco and alternative. Thank u the Center!

Aunque ofrecemos más de 80 terapias diferentes en los campos del bienestar, la medicina tradicional china y el Ayurveda, tienes razón, no ofrecemos ninguna formación para nuestros becarios que solamente están allí durante cuatro semanas. Y aunque nuestro gran jardín y la espiral de hierbas fueron diseñados por un paisajista de acuerdo con las directrices de la permacultura y también tenemos un pequeño jardín de hortalizas, también tienes razón en que no ofrecemos ninguna formación adicional sobre este tema, aparte de mostrarte cómo desherbar, cultivar el suelo y explicar cuándo es la época de cosecha de patatas ;-) Por supuesto también ofrecemos cursos de formación, por ejemplo en el campo del Ayurveda, pero no como parte de una pasantía de cuatro semanas. Sin embargo, cada becario recibe todas las tareas y las condiciones generales antes de su llegada y antes de que incluso arreglemos una cita fija. Como parte de esta comunicación, se pueden hacer muchas preguntas, por ejemplo sobre cosas que son importantes para ti. Lamentablemente no lo hiciste. Para no provocar más confusión, ahora he eliminado estos iconos. No quiero crear expectativas que no podemos y no queremos cumplir. No sea que alguno de los becarios se queje de que nuestras clases de yoga se imparten en alemán o de que la zona de la sauna solo se pueda usar en momentos seleccionados ;-)

I grew to feel very much at home in this little community. The managing of tasks was just fine, you just need to voice your needs very clearly. I worked in service which improved my German a lot and the weekly German classes were excellent. I feel compelled to mention that at times I felt uncomfortable by some inappropriate behaviour of a couple men there. I spoke to a manager and this was dealt with, so this shouldn't be a problem in the future. The room with the girls was great but remember to clean it! You can really enjoy your time off and the location is simply beautiful! Thank you all!:)

The Center gave me a realistic understanding of what it's like working in a hotel and the opportunity to meet some lovely people :) There were some things I had to adjust to: I applied to work in the garden, but I was assigned to housekeeping for 2 weeks. I worked alone and the physical aspect of the job was quite demanding. I only worked in the garden towards the end of my stay, cleaning gutters, the pond, and raking leaves. No matter what job you apply for, you will be working in all sectors (unless you are a man, in which case you will not be assigned to work in housekeeping).

I really enjoyed my stay at the Center. The staff is friendly and so are the other volunteers I met through my six weeks stay. I only did garden and renovation tasks but I did not want to change as my working schedule was convenient for me. Overall I think for those who want to take a break from life and have some alone time where they can breathe without worrying too much about the future the Center is a great place to rest between two traveling destinations.

I had a good time in the Center, the place is amazing, the room, the food, german lessons, all very good. My colleagues are also amazing and we had good moments together. On the other hand, there was a misunderstanding about the task. On the platform I applied to the kitchen, but they put me on housekeeping. Then I said that I would leave if I had to do one more week of this task and they said that I could choose between housekeeping or go away and that's what I did. The boss said that he had sent me a message before about different tasks but I understood that that was a standard message.

Desafortunadamente, no explicaste correctamente este malentendido. Para explicarlo brevemente, cada pasante tiene permitido conocer y realizar diferentes tareas con nosotros. El objetivo es obtener una buena visión general del trabajo en un hotel. Por esta razón hay una rotación de puestos cada dos semanas, para que ningún pasante se sienta desfavorecido y tenga la oportunidad de probar y conocer diferentes cosas. Te expliqué todo por escrito antes de que llegaras. El problema fue este: simplemente no quisiste ayudar con el servicio de limpieza. Y nos diste la opción: o puedes volver a trabajar en la cocina o nos dejas antes del tiempo acordado. Como queremos tratar a todos los pasantes por igual y no queremos ser chantajeados, no respondimos a tu solicitud. Para ser honesto, tu comportamiento también me recordó un poco a mi hija, pero ella tiene 12 años y no 30 años y está en medio de la fase de desobediencia ;-) Independientemente de este incidente, estuvimos contentos de haberte tenido con nosotros y con ellos.
