The lodge was my first destination in Indonesia and I'm very grateful to have chosen this project. It was an incredible 15 days of a lot of learning, I was able to learn more about art, dance and music, I experienced in depth how an Indonesian lives and I was moved at various times. Jabrik, Tipen, and Naufal are amazing friends that I want to take with me for life. Gratitude for everything, I felt very well received ♡

This is truly one of the most special Worldpackers projects I've ever been part of: that's why I came twice so far!! The hosts put their heart into everything they do and are constantly working to make the experience even better. Since my last visit, the major upgrades in the facilities were amazing – and I already loved it the first time. What makes it so unique is how the program is shaped around your interests. TRUST ME, u will take home so many new impressions and inspirations. If want to learn from real artists and connect with authentic locals, this is the place where u want to be!! 🌀🪿

This was an amazing and life changing experience! I liked it so much that I extended the stay for extra week. Environment was very chill and relaxing, but at the same time full of many events and activities! I got an opportunity to do wood cutting + t-shirt print, pottery lesson, we recycled paper, did painting and my very first abstract lesson. Big thanks to Jabrik for teaching, organising events and trips, and for the support. I truly felt like part of the family! Loved every moment!

Coming to Indonesia through this program was truly life-changing. I arrived unsure of who I was but eager to create, connect, and explore. What I found filled me completely art, culture, and meaningful human connection. Working with local artists, exchanging stories and creativity, and walking through peaceful villages gave me a deep sense of belonging. It wasn't just about art it was about heart. This experience reminded me why I create. It gave me clarity, inspiration, and purpose. I'm grateful to have been part of something so powerful.

This World Packing experience was disappointing. I wanted to learn pottery and contribute to the community, but the living conditions were awful—worse than a prison cell, with red ants, no AC, and barely any space. There was no real program, just one daily activity, seemingly to extend stays for more money. The actual host was absent, and the person running things barely spoke English. Smoking was constant, and I had no transportation to explore. I paid for two days instead of two weeks. Overall, it was boring, unorganized, and not worth it. Do not recommend.

My experience at Djawarta was mixed. I learned skills like recycled paper-making and woodcutting and enjoyed exploring nature with Jabrik. However, communication issues and lack of organization were disappointing. Sadly we didn't do the skills advertised in the pictures and I had to request schedules and activities. My dietary restrictions posed challenges and made me feel uncomfortable. With better organization and communication, this could be a great experience. Despite difficulties, I value the memories and lessons learned.

The team at the community are incredible, they all form a group with a very good and happy energy, I definitely recommend it, come and live the experience, live with them, try delicious typical food, beautiful nature and of course a lot of art, I would definitely come back. 🫶
