From the moment I arrived I felt at home. The family is incredibly welcoming and generous. You don't come just for a job, you are invited to become a part of the family. Elena especially is so invested, passionate and caring. The kids are full of energy, they can be a handful sometimes but around them there is never a dull moment! Most students are happy to come to the school, they're grateful and a pleasure to teach. You may think you're not doing much, but you are. It's a very gratifying job. I really had a wonderful time. Also, safety in and around Kyiv is barely a concern, so don't hesitate!

No tengo más que las cosas más hermosas para decir sobre Lena y su familia. En cuanto crucé la puerta, me sentí de inmediato como parte de la familia. Todos son tan acogedores y hacen que sea tan fácil ajustarse a un lugar tan único como Ucrania. Los dos meses que estuve allí fueron de los mejores y más gratificantes de mi vida. Lena es fácil de conversar y te ayudará con cualquier cosa que necesites. Y la comida de babushka es de las mejores que he probado. Los niños de la escuela también son tan dulces y fáciles de enseñar. ¡En serio, no puedo recomendar lo suficiente esta experiencia!

La experiencia fue increíble. Elena y su familia realmente te hacen sentir como en casa. Siempre fueron amables y atentos, desde recogernos hasta ayudar cuando me enfermé. Las habitaciones eran grandes y cómodas, y la comida siempre fue excelente.
Las clases de inglés estaban bien organizadas y no eran difíciles si hablas inglés. Conocí a estudiantes y voluntarios increíbles de otros países, lo que hizo todo aún más divertido.
Y si tienes dudas de ir debido a la guerra, puedo decir que Ucrania es un país muy seguro. La gente es increíblemente hospitalaria y amable. Recomiendo mucho esta experiencia.

Vine durante el invierno de 2025-2026 y, si bien hubo algunos contratiempos inesperados, en gran medida sentí que era muy seguro. siempre había mucha comida para comer, agua segura para beber. si era necesario, había un generador, así que cada problema no era tan grave. si te gusta enseñar a niños, es bastante fácil. si no eres maestro, te sorprenderá cuántas veces tienes que repetir las cosas. es un trabajo muy simple y fácil. Recomendaría aprender algo de ucraniano antes de venir; es útil cuando se está por la ciudad por tu cuenta.

Working with the the school was nothing short of spectacular. I only stayed for about 3 weeks, and left wishing I could have stayed longer. Elena is a fantastic host with a lot of heart. Having an opportunity to support the the school, Culture House, and twin boys were all wonderful. There are no shortages of ways to support if you are looking to get involved, but plenty of flexibility if you need a moment to breathe. Can't recommend enough (not to mention 3 VERY delicious meals a day cooked with food grown in their gardens). I will be back soon!

It was a lovely experience spending time with Elena, her family, and the kids I was fortunate enough to meet in Ukraine. Elena is such a kind and considerate teacher, mom, and friend to me. She treated me not as an outsider from the first day I arrived, but like her family. She would check in to see if I was doing okay or if the classes were going as I expected. I didn't hesitate to reach out to her for help anytime given how helpful she was. I highly recommend this the the school to people who want to volunteer as an English instructor and make an impact on the education in Ukraine.

My stay with Olena and her family was wonderful. She went beyond any expectations. Working hours were easy and adaptable to my skill and plans. Food was 10/10 in quality and quantity everyday thanks to Babushka. The location is great, and the family were extremely friendly and open in suggesting places to visit, activities and in helping if any scheduling or travel issues arose. Olena encouraged practicing languages and engagement all the time and her entire family welcoming. Olena could not do more to make the experience more comfortable and worry-free.
