“I absolutely loved my stay with Irma and Charlie. It was calm and peaceful and exactly what i needed. The work was mainly weeding and mulching and I actually really enjoyed that. Irma was really flexible with the hours which was great because I had enough time to visit my friends who live here and also explore Bonogin. This is her review:
"Fantastic place to stay, thank you so much to Irma and Charlie for having me. The work is very flexible and you can do it whenever you are free. I was mostly doing gardening such as weeding, composting, mulching, moving stones, raking leaves, keeping the garden tidy, also the odd cleaning job inside the main house. I would ask Irma what she'd like me to do and she'd usually have a specific task she needed doing that day. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend to anyone who is looking to live in the gold coast for free. There is also a pool that you can cool down in after some sweaty gardening. The family is very friendly and easy to get on with."

This is their testimonial:
To whom it may concern
After 13 months spent woofing at the Williams’s in Bonogin it is time for us to move on as my new job is taking us further north.
As Irma and Charly are hoping to get new people in they asked me to give a short account of our woofing experience with them.
This woofing/sharing adventure started in December 2019. Our rental flat in Varsity Lakes was being sold and we had to find a new place which is when we saw Irma’s ad.
As I work full time only Jean Marc could do the woofing work in exchange of our free rent and bills. So the pattern was set that he would work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week looking after the house, cottage, animals and garden.
HIs duties which were regularly discussed with the Williamses included:
● Feeding the animals and collecting manure and poops.
● Do any gardening odd jobs as per Irma’s instructions: pruning, mulching, moving earth...
● Cleaning the kitchen and air BB part of the house as needed.
In exchange for this we had the use of the 2 front rooms of the house as well as the adjoining bathroom and we shared the kitchen.
We quickly found a pattern of meal times where we would not be in each other’s way while at other times we would all have dinner together around the table,
The house is big enough for all of us living in good harmony.
All in all our stay went really well and it was a mutually enriching experience providing all of us with a new experience and help where and when we needed it.
Feel free to contact us should you have any other questions.
Cheers Sylvie and Jean Marc.
Actividades & Turnos
The work can be done at anytime, so I consider Saturday, Sunday & public holidays work days as well. Work time depends on the weather: whether it’s too hot to work, or raining, whether I’m available or you are. Some people who stay work outside of the home as well, to earn an income.
We need help with gardening: shovelling & wheelbarrowing soil/mulch/compost/horse manure/bricks, rocks or weeds. weeding, & depending on your passions and skills: handyman duties, carpentry, painting, cleaning. You must be able to shovel & wheelbarrow this mulch around the garden. You will be using garden tools like: forks, shovels, rakes, & saws.
Reglas
You must like animals – we have 2x dogs, & 1x cat, who is an indoor cat.
We recycle everything. All fruit and vege waste is composted; all plastics, tins, or glass; are cleaned and put in the recycling bin, as well as paper and cardboard/or the 10c recycling bin.
Please follow instructions with regards to this.
