Puedo decir sinceramente que me voy de esta experiencia con una nueva amiga llamada Elen. Su esposo es muy amable y su hijo es tan travieso con tanta energía. Los estudiantes de su Academy son todos tan acogedores y desean aprender. Esta experiencia fue fluida y tan enriquecedora. La casa de Elen era increíble; ella me proporcionó el segundo piso solo para mí con mi propia habitación y mi baño.

Los niños son muy dulces y disfrutan pasar tiempo con nosotros. Conoces la ciudad de Bondowoso y puedes ir a tomar cafés o caminar por las calles. Muchos locales piden fotos/ quieren saber de dónde eres y están interesados en hablar contigo. Las clases son por la tarde/ noche, así que tienes las mañanas para descansar y explorar. Elen te deja descansar si sientes que lo necesitas y te permite enseñar de la forma que quieras y crear tus propias presentaciones de PowerPoint/ lecciones para los niños. Extrañaré a los niños a medida que desarrolles relaciones cercanas con algunos y hasta te ofrecen comida/ golosinas de los padres :)

Elen is a great host. As a person she is fun and kindhearted and understanding. As a teacher she is very patient with the kids and passionate about teaching English. I have been welcomed with so much kindness from her and her family. She arranged a very nice private room for me, spacious and clean. The food she and her mom cooked for me was delicious. I definitely recommend this volunteering experience not only for teaching English but also living like a local experience.

My experience in Bondowoso has been quite something, especially considering that it was my first time in Asia. I've been immersed in the local culture from the very first day. The school is an amazing way to get to know the kids and even their parents. Last, but not least, Elen has been very welcoming even before my arrival. She's very caregiving and respectful. It's has been an amazing experience!

A volunteering stay in Bondowoso is exactly what volunteering abroad is all about. The kids are great and you'll get a cultural exchange of all the little city of Bondowoso has to offer. Elen will show you some nearby local sights and I even spent our day out with the whole family. The kids warm up to you and are super sweet and a fun experience teaching many english levels. Would definitely recommend

My experience in this volunteer program was the school. I gained a deep cultural understanding of the people here, their traditions, and beliefs. I also had the pleasure of seeing beautiful places, tasting local foods, talking to locals, and teaching English to children and teenagers — which, honestly, has been a beautiful and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this volunteer program not only for the cultural exchange but also because of Helen, the host, and her family. They made me feel like part of their family from the very first moment with their warmth and kindness

I have been very welcome into this volunteering even before I would step in Java. It's located in a small city but very close to the nature so I feel very relaxed. The students are very different so it keeps the daily routine very interesting. Elen was always available to show me around or just chatting about anything and her family made me feel part of it even tho they can't speak English. I really enjoyed the short time I spent there. Thank you.

Me divertí mucho con los estudiantes y disfruté conociéndolos. Tuve que idear presentaciones en PowerPoint y hojas de ejercicios para apoyar las clases. Principalmente hacía las clases solo, así que tuve que usar creatividad para idear trabajo para hacer durante una hora. Debes saber que no hay ducha, así que el cubo y el tanque de agua son la mejor opción. Sobre la comida, a veces se queda en el mostrador por un periodo de tiempo, podría ser difícil para estómagos que no están acostumbrados a eso. Bondowoso es una ciudad pequeña, así que salón de belleza, mercado y cine son las cosas para hacer aquí. Elen es una persona muy agradable.
