My experience at HSH was amazing and much more special than I expected. From the first days, I felt very welcomed by the staff and other volunteers, and the hostel quickly felt like a second home. The work was fair and organized, and I improved my English, met incredible people from all over the world, and created unforgettable memories, including random adventures and inside jokes I'll never forget hahaha. Edinburgh is also an amazing city full of life and beautiful places. I would definitely recommend this experience.

J'ai vécu une incroyable première expérience de volontariat au l'auberge de jeunesse. Je le recommande à 100%. Tous bien vaillant et à l'écoute. C'est une vraie expérience de vie humaines où on est entouré de différentes nationalités qui viennent des 4 coins du mondes. Des personnes avec des personnalités et des cultures différentes qui se réunissent et qui partagent des moments qui resteront gravé pour toujours. Merci l'auberge de jeunesse pour cette magnifique opportunité et peut-être à bientôt.

My volunteer experience at the hostel in Scotland was definitely one of the best I've ever had. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and valued by the HSH. It made the whole experience even more special. What made this experience so unique was the atmosphere. It genuinely felt like being part of a family. I loved every moment we shared, from working together to exploring the city and enjoying walks around Edinburgh. I'm really grateful for everything I experienced there. I would absolutely recommend the hostel.

My experience at the hostel was truly special. From the very beginning I felt welcomed and at ease, and little by little the hostel became much more than just a place to stay or work , it became a home. What I appreciated the most was the human side of this experience. Gabs, are an amazing woman, and your kindness, patience, and the way you treat people really made a difference for me. It's something I will always remember. I'm leaving Edinburgh with a full heart and so much gratitude. I honestly didn't expect to meet such incredible people or to feel so at home here, but i did!

My experience at the hostel will always be very special to me. It was my first volunteering experience, and from the very first day, it was absolutely amazing. My life felt like a movie! The people I met at the hostel were incredible! I made new friends and we had so much fun together. The work was enjoyable and flexible. The entire management team is very collaborative. You're also encouraged to come up with your own ideas, and they always try to give you the opportunity to bring them to life. I found a new home there, and I would 100% recommend this hostel to everyone!

Ohh, the hostel! Home far from home, definitely. The manager Gabs and the head cleaner Dale made everything feel soft and smooth since my very first day. The hostel has a family vibe that's unbeatable, hard to find somewhere else. I spent 5 months in HSH and the closeness were always there, doesn't matter what group of volunteers we had. If you like events and talking to guests, perfect vibe If you don't like, perfect vibe too. Events shifts are optional. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll miss the jokes, board games and love we all shared in HSH. best place ever!

Everyone who works there is wonderful and responsible, the working hours are great and very well organized, and the hostel's vibe and location are amazing. This was my first time working in a hostel with such a large team of volunteers, and I was genuinely impressed by how well everything was organized. The structure was clear, the tasks were thoughtfully planned, and everything ran smoothly even with so many people involved. What made this experience truly special was the people. I met so many inspiring and unforgettable individuals here — the kind of encounters that stay with you long after you leave. The staff were incredibly kind, supportive and easy to work with, which made the whole environment feel welcoming from the very beginning.

I came for one month and stayed for another, which says everything about how special this place became to me. It felt like a home away from home, warm, welcoming, and full of kind people! I've stayed in other hostels, but never experienced something this genuine. So many special moments, shared dinners, game nights, volleyball in the park, and all the little memories in between. The friendships I made meant so much to me. The working hours are very fair, and the tasks are easygoing. I never felt overwhelmed. Leaving with a heart full of gratitude! It might sound a bit cliché to say a hostel can feel like home, but HSH truly made me feel that way from day one. The staff is incredible, and the way volunteers are chosen creates a diverse and open-minded environment in terms of culture and age, which really enriches the experience. Tasks are simple, schedules are flexible, and there's plenty of time to enjoy a city as beautiful as Edinburgh. I'm leaving with amazing friendships and unforgettable memories.
