Tuve la gran suerte de ser invitada en una boda de uno de sus familiares y fue una experiencia increible. Animo a mas voluntarios a elegir este proyecto porque realmente necesitan ayuda pero sin lugar a dues lo que recibes es mucho más.

¡Tuve una experiencia increíble en esta la escuela! Sophea y Charany fueron anfitriones increíbles y siempre estuvieron disponibles para ayudarme con lo que necesitara. Las comidas eran geniales y abundantes, y el pueblo local era increíble para recorrer en bicicleta durante el día. Sophea y su familia son muy amables y disponibles, me dieron toda la información que necesitaba y prepararon excelentes comidas para mí (soy vegetariana) y aprecié mucho el tiempo con ellos.
Desafortunadamente era la única voluntaria y el lugar está un poco aislado.
Sin embargo, hablando de la experiencia de enseñanza en general, desafortunadamente no fue tan envolvente como pensaba; no me sentí particularmente útil y creo que se podría trabajar un poco más en esto.

Mi experiencia en la escuela fue excelente; tuve una verdadera oportunidad de ponerme en contacto con la comunidad local y la verdadera Camboya rural. Fui recibido de forma realmente amable por Sophea, Charany y sus hijos y fui tratado como parte de la familia. Fue increíble conocer a los niños en la escuela, aprender su cultura y enseñarles algo de inglés básico con la ayuda de los maestros locales. I would first like to thank my host Sophea, his family and colleagues for their unwavering hospitality. I truly felt like one of the family. The lodgings were comfortable and the food delicious. They were incredibly accommodating and supportive with weekend activities, often with a meal waiting on my return. Working with the students and fellow teachers never felt like “work.” It was natural, enjoyable, and deeply rewarding. The students impressed me with their intelligence and curiosity — a true reflection of the the school's dedication to high quality education. I was sad to leave.

I only stayed here for one week. Therefore I felt like I was mostly observing and not being very helpful, since I first had to learn about the the school and how it works. It was still very nice to meet the kids. They were super fun and interested. Sophea is a friendly welcoming host who always tried to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Sopheas wife is super friendly as well. She is also a great cook and prepared delicious meals (I am vegetarian and that was not a problem at all). I would recommend staying longer than I did to really have time to meet the kids and and help the the school.

We recently had the opportunity to volunteer at this local the school in a rural village. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and felt like at home with Sophea and his family. We were supporting a local teacher at his English class, and we tried our best to make a positive impact with the children. The room is basic but ok and the food is very good. We also participated in community events and went to a house warming event. One of our highlights during our stay, were the children, they are so kind, adorable and with enthusiasm to learn English. I've had an amazing two weeks at the the school. Sophea and his family welcomed me with open arms and made sure I am comfortable at all times. I was teaching classes on my own from day 1. I really enjoyed this as it allowed me to connect with the kids on a deeper level. I also attended a wedding, a birthday party and a house warming party - all three amazing experiences, I've had a lot of fun meeting the local community and learning about their culture. the the school is in a rural area so a driving licence would have come in handy but the family took me wherever I needed to go. Thanks Sophea!

I spent a week teaching English here and really enjoyed it. The children were so lovely and Sophea + his family were very welcoming & accommodating and spoke great english. I was the only volunteer during my time there and it was very quiet as it's a super small village. 3 of 5 days I was leading a class by myself which was a great experience but a little tricky as I don't speak Khmer so maybe be aware of that. Overall, would recommend this volunteering to fully immerse yourself in the culture (I got to experience a Khmer wedding and local markets) and to feel like you're making a difference!
