Join a small, locally run guest house in the heart of Nubia!
We’re looking for independent, respectful, and creative volunteers to help us with:
🎨 General cleaning of the hostel
🌱 Watering the plants
👋 Welcoming guests and sharing basic info (when needed)
🧹 Organizing shared spaces
In return, you’ll live in a peaceful setting away from crowds, dive into Nubian traditions, and share meals, stories, and calm vibes with our team 💬🌍
You'll work about 5 hours/day, 5 days/week, with plenty of free time to explore, relax by the river, or join local outings!
At the guest house, we already have someone who handles most of the cleaning, but when we are fully booked, she needs help with a room, shared areas, the kitchen, sweeping the hallways a few times a day, cleaning the terrace, or anything else that comes up. On days when her workload is light, we need help doing deeper cleaning of doors, windows, tiles, decor, and the outside of the guest house.
You will also need to clean the guest house on Fridays fully. with one of us or another volunteer, since it is a day off for all Egyptian workers.
💬 Respect for others & shared spaces
🚭 No smoking, alcohol, or drugs inside (you can smoke on the terrace)
🔇 Quiet hours: 10 PM – 8 AM
🍽 Volunteers buy and cook their own meals. We provide breakfast ingredients, but lunch and dinner are on you unless we share a community dinner.
