This project was born from a deep desire to protect nature from the negative impacts of mass tourism. Founded by a team with years of experience in ecotourism and research, the initiative focuses on regenerative practices that honor the environment and local heritage. Deeply rooted in the community, they work side-by-side with villagers to ensure traditions thrive. By prioritizing connection over profit, they are building a sustainable model where travelers and locals grow together.
This unique group experience is set in a traditional Tenggerese village high in the volcanic highlands of East Java, Indonesia. This region is sacred, renowned for its dramatic landscapes, fertile volcanic soil, and the deep, rich spiritual traditions of the local community. The project is situated far from urban centers, focusing on a community-driven regenerative model within the natural environment. This offers a profound, authentic cultural immersion where you can connect with the land and its ancient stewards.
Your journey offers a direct, hands-on contribution to regenerative agriculture and the preservation of the Tenggerese cultural heritage. By engaging with the village, you help fund local educational programs focused on sustainable farming and support local livelihoods through ethical tourism. You become a partner in restoring the landscape and empowering the community to thrive sustainably. This is meaningful travel that leaves a tangible, positive footprint on both nature and culture.
Travelers take climate-positive action by joining weekly waterfall clean-ups, removing waste from ecosystems. Supporting organic farming and reforestation projects helps lower carbon footprints and restores biodiversity in the region.
By collaborating with the center, travelers support new, sustainable income streams for the villagers through eco-tourism. This promotes sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all in this remote community.
The group will participate in regenerative farming practices, erosion control, and high-altitude reforestation efforts. This action is vital for protecting, restoring, and promoting sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems and halting biodiversity loss in the highlands.
