Gian Vittorio

La ferme est nichée dans la nature de Castelnuovo di Ceva (CN), dans un environnement montagneux à 800 mètres d'altitude. Les chèvres produisent en moyenne 2 litres de lait par jour de février à fin octobre. Pendant la période de gestation de novembre à janvier, lorsque les chèvres ne produisent pas de lait, la production de fromage est arrêtée. Les chèvres sont traites deux fois par jour, et pour garantir la qualité du produit, le lait est directement transformé en fromage.

Lorsque nous sommes à Castelnuovo di Ceva à mon siège, les bénévoles disposent d'une chambre dans la maison où ils vivent, avec leur propre salle de bains. Nous partageons les espaces communs et les repas. Pour la saison estivale, nous déménageons définitivement à Borgata Paraloup - commune de Rittana dans la province de Cuneo Valle Stura pour les pâturages de montagne, de mai à début octobre, où les méthodes d'élevage et de production de fromage seront les mêmes que celles pratiquées sur place.

Accueillir des bénévoles est une expérience fascinante d'échange culturel et expérientiel. Accueillir les bénévoles ressemble à embarquer pour un voyage à travers les expériences partagées. Nous cuisinerons et partagerons des repas ensemble une fois par jour.

Unfortunately, my worst experience ever (and the only bad I had so far with WorldPackers)… I do not fear working alone 8-10 hours a day, but they put you in a part of the house and barely talk to you, except for what to do and blame you on what you did wrong. So there is a real cultural exchange here, just felt like an unpaid employee. The worst part was when I left; there was a misagreement on what needed to be cleaned, and the 2 hosts responded with verbal violence and physical agressivity. I was insulted and being told I did nothing good (which was not said during my stay). Unacceptable.

Staying at La Servaja with the farm and Eva was an unforgettable experience. My help was appreciated, and I fully immersed myself in farm life. The work is intense—expect to work more than stated on the profile, with no rest days if you agree, as the animals need daily care. I learned so much, and the experience was incredibly rewarding. If you love animals and are ready for real farm life, this is the place for you!

My stay at the farm and Eva's farm was extraordinary. I enjoyed every day and everyone - from people to animals ;) they are incredible hosts, they not only are available for you to find your place in their daily routine, but also open to share their lifestyle and values, and masterchef level meals ;) Having to deal with animals, be prepared to work hard and adapt to needs and priorities: it may require you to work longer and harder, but it is totally rewarding. If you truly want to experience what it means to be a Shepard, I couldn't recommend this experience more! Hope to be back there soon!

This two weeks with the farm was a perfect opportunity to experience how a shepherd's life looks like. I could immerse myself into the Italian countryside lifestyle, which means, sometimes you have to work all the day, but this is absolutely worth it. I loved to work with the goats, my favourite part was when we went to the pasture with goats in the morning. the farm cooks very good dishes, the pastas and the cheese are wonderful and the house is really cosy.
