J'ai passé une semaine dans l'institut d'anglais pour aider les élèves à pratiquer et améliorer leur expression en anglais. J'ai adoré partager avec tous les étudiants, ce fut un plaisir. Tout le personnel de l'institut est très aimable et disponible. Les horaires sont respectés et les appartements pour les bénévoles sont très confortables. Je le recommande vivement, merci pour tout!

My experience at SALC Riobamba was good. The apartment for volunteers is great and all of the teachers and people in administration is so kind and helpful. The work itself gets a bit repetitive after a week as you're doing speaking with the students and you mostly talk about the same thing for hours. But I know this is something that they are working on, so that volunteers have more materials to work with the students. Lunch and dinner is not provided as it says here on Worldpackers, but you get payed 5$ a day to cover anything you need to buy.

Nora et sa collègue ont été d'une grande aide à l'école dans l'activité pour laquelle nous avons besoin de votre aide. Comme nous l'avons expliqué au départ, le travail consiste à pratiquer l'expression orale avec les élèves, et non à une quelconque forme d'enseignement ou de tutorat, c'est pourquoi nous laissons libre le sujet de chaque conversation et de chaque séance de conversation qu'ils ont avec les élèves, afin de mieux connaître à la fois la culture propre du pays et celle des élèves, ainsi que celle des étrangers qui nous rendent visite et nous aident avec les élèves.

I had a great time at SALC Riobamba. The staff was very welcoming and even picked me up from the bus station when I arrived. I had to work 5 hours per day for 5 days a week and this schedule was always honored. Even when they had to change the schedule because of the electricity cuts, they told me beforehand and made sure I still only worked 5 hours per day. I would recommend this experience for anyone with fluent English.

I first spent two weeks at SALC Guayaquil, then six weeks at SALC Riobamba. At both locations, I conducted English speaking sessions with students for five hours every weekday. In both Guayaquil and Riobamba, the students were very friendly, and I enjoyed talking with them about many topics. The staff at both schools were also helpful, and we spent many hours chatting during lunch or after school hours. My day climbing on Chimborazo was the best. I would recommend this experience for anyone interested in helping Ecuadorian students with their English skills.

This experience offers a welcoming environment where I've improved my Spanish. The staff treats me with respect, and I've made friends from around the world. Exploring the beautiful city and its culture every weekend is a joy. Highly recommend!

Working at SALC in Riobamba was a great experience! Everyone at the school has been super welcoming (both teachers and students), what made the work very enjoyable, even if it can get a bit monotonous at times. I also felt very comfortable in the flat, which is located directly in the school. Last but not least, the city of Riobamba has many good and cheap restaurants and offers many opportunities for activities (especially hiking - and you can also see the Chimborazo from the school). All in all, I would have loved to stay longer!

I had a really good experience. i took students for conversations in English monday-friday for five hours. it was easy and i met lots of interesting people. i was allowed to choose my hours and when i was sick for two days they were understanding. thank you karo and esteban for the experience :)

Really bad communication, lack off respect and the hosts do not speak English so getting any communication across is difficult. They have many things not listed in the description that they want you to do like record videos for their social media and take photos etc it just was not a friendly space. Constantly being rushed and never being thanked it was a disappointment.

Nous ne les recommandons pas pour aucun bénévolat. Ils sont arrivés un jour après ce qui avait été annoncé, ils se sont enivrés et ont endommagé une chambre, ils ont emporté les clés que nous leur avions fournies pour entrer dans l'école, et pourtant ils ont des réclamations. On suppose que si vous êtes bénévole et que vous voulez aider, ce n’est pas votre cas; vous devriez chercher une page qui vous accepte sans rien faire. Et si vous ne vouliez pas enregistrer une vidéo, vous auriez pu nous le dire et ne pas nous faire perdre notre temps. Malgré cela, nous les avons bien notés, ce qui ne mérite pas car ils sont incompétents.

I enjoyed working in the school Centre so much :) I connected really well with the staff and the students, such amazing people! And I did not want to leave. I learned incredibly a lot about the local culture, even had my chances to practice Spanish, and felt completely safe and comfortable during all of my stay.
