GEC aura toujours une place spéciale dans mon cœur. Mama Ida m'a entouré d'une chaleur si grande que je ne me suis jamais senti comme un invité — je me suis vraiment senti comme de la famille. Je suis profondément reconnaissant envers elle et envers M. Bayu de m'avoir fait sentir bienvenu, soutenu et chez moi dès le début. Les étudiants et toute la communauté ont rendu mon séjour inoubliable. Aux voyageurs futurs: venez avec un cœur ouvert et chérissez les moments simples. Je suis arrivé en tant que volontaire, mais je suis parti avec des souvenirs, de la gratitude et une famille dont je me souviendrai toujours.

Tout sur cette expérience était génial. J'ai rencontré les personnes les plus merveilleuses et j'ai énormément appris sur leur culture. Les hôtes Bayu et Farida ont été formidables, ils m'ont traité comme un membre de la famille et m'ont toujours fait goûter de nouveaux plats délicieux. Le travail est très enrichissant et j'ai adoré voir les étudiants s'améliorer et gagner davantage de confiance en parlant anglais. Toute la région est magnifique et tellement sous-estimée : des rizières, des montagnes, des sources naturelles, des plages et des sites de l'UNESCO.

I don't have enough good words to describe this volunteering. Meeting the GEC Family was by far one of my best traveling experiences. Mr. Bayu and Ms. Farida are the best and most attentive hosts. You will feel like home while meeting locals and immersing in local javanese and indonesian culture. The rest of the teachers and students at GEC would make your stay in Klaten one to remember, creating meaningful life experiences and friendships for a life time. I will definitely come back as soon as i can! Please don't hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any questions or need more info.

I've had a wonderful time volunteering at GEC. The school is primarily teaching English to adults, interested in working on cruise ships so the students are usually in their 20ies or 30ies. It was so much fun assisting the classes with Banyu and not difficult at all. Throughout this whole time I was fed exceptionally well and could choose whatever food I wanted. Farida always made sure I had everything I need, took care of my laundry and even invited me on a spa day. :) I'm really grateful for my time at GEC

This experience has been very enriching, I have been able to continue practising English, Bayu is a very attentive staff member who has always made sure that I have not missed anything and that I feel very comfortable, she is also a very funny person and I have been able to enjoy myself with the students, the work consists of speaking English with them so that they can practise it. I would definitely recommend this volunteer, thank you very much 🙏🏼

This was an amazing experience. I came there without any expectations and it was one of the best voluntering of my life. The people there included me in the family since day one. I have never seen that much kindness in such a short period of time. In a typical day, you have two courses (one in the afternoon and the other in the evening). The students are always so cheerful and honestly it doesn't really seem like a course. You just try to have a conversation with them and try to make them understand. I technically was the teacher, but I learn so much from them. I will recommend it for sure!
