Mes trois semaines au lodge sont passées extrêmement vite ! La famille est adorable et si accueillante. Je suis arrivé sans compétences particulières et ils ont été extrêmement patients avec moi, et cela m'a permis d'apprendre beaucoup. C'était génial de découvrir à quoi ressemble la vie dans le Karoo.

Sous les étoiles, réchauffée par la lueur du feu de camp, la maison vibre d'une énergie si contagieuse qu'elle te fait sourire et ne te donne jamais envie de partir. Les tâches sont amusantes et créatives, et elles veillent à ce que le travail corresponde à tes dons et à ce que tu aimes faire. Il y a tellement de gentillesse, d'ouverture et de rires que tu te sens immédiatement chez toi. Ce n'est pas seulement une expérience—c'est la famille. J'ai vraiment apprécié mon temps ici et je me sens reconnaissant pour chaque moment.

Séjourner au lodge a été une expérience incroyable. La famille est TRÈS aimable et accueillante, tout comme Ernest, qui travaille à la maison pendant la journée et a toujours été heureux de partager des histoires de sa culture zoulou. Max, Jack et Rox, les adolescents de la maison, ont tous été si fantastiques pour m'aider chaque fois que j'avais besoin d'aide et m'accueillir dans tout, et Justin et Freyni ont été si gentils et flexibles avec les horaires. J'ai pu travailler selon mon propre emploi du temps en développant les sites de réseaux sociaux. L'hébergement était aussi excellent. Je recommande vivement. P.S. Leurs chiens, en particulier Badger, sont les plus doux qui soient.

I had a really lovely time at the lodge, it was absolutely perfect for me as a change of pace from hectic backpacking. The accommodation, food etc. was all very comfortable and generous. I really enjoyed the tasks that I was set which included tinkering with the tractor, building fences, gardening, Helping to repair the road and other general jobs. We also went on several trips to the local towns & Justin slowed me to accompany him on a research trip, which was v cool. It was very nice to be in a family environment, exchanging stories and jokes over yummy meals and walks. Would highly recommend!

If you are a traveler and are looking for an unforgettable adventure, this is the ideal place for you! A unique experience, waking up every day with a wonderful view of the mountains and to the sound of excellent classical music played on the piano, each day with a different spetaculum sunset and with starry sky. The tasks are diverse and with the possibility of choosing what you prefer to do, with flexibility of schedules, always accompanied by a lovely company and with a helper who is worth more than a teacher, to help you with any clarification you need. I recommend it with my eyes closed

Hei. I was there for 2 1/2 weeks in March 2024 and can highly recommend it. A wonderful, warm-hearted family who take care of everything. You get fantastic food, have your own bathroom and bedroom, bed is mega cosy. The farm is in a lovely quiet place and it is so peaceful there. In the morning and during the day you are woken up by the piano of one son, so lovely. (Max 😊🙌) There is really a lot to do on the farm, especially a lot of renovation in the craft. I have redesigned the gardens and done some creative work. So you have to go there, highly recommended. ❤️

I had a wonderful time at the lodge! My task was to get their old Bedford truck running and we were able to complete that task by the end of my stay. I also helped Freyni with different projects for the guesthouse and was always involved in whatever was happening in their home. They made sure I was able to experience some of the local towns, attractions, and national parks to have a full and fulfilling experience in South Africa. The whole family is incredibly kind and welcoming and I can't wait to see them again :)
