Dans l'ensemble, je ne recommanderais pas de faire du bénévolat au Hippie Hostel, car je pense que l'ambiance générale était très décevante et je me suis senti mal à l'aise là-bas. Bien que le travail soit très facile (juste 2-3 tâches de nettoyage le matin), j'ai eu beaucoup de difficulté à rencontrer d'autres jeunes dans ce hostel et je ne l'ai pas trouvé du tout sociable. On m'a aussi mis dans le plus grand dortoir mixte partagé, ce que normalement je n'aurais pas trouvé problématique, mais j'ai constaté que les seules personnes qui venaient à l'auberge étaient des hommes plus âgés. De plus, il avait été convenu dans le cadre de mon bénévolat que je recevrais un repas par jour, et à mon arrivée rien n'a été mentionné à ce sujet.

L'auberge est petite, et j'étais le seul volontaire, alors gardez à l'esprit que pour pratiquer les langues, vous devrez essayer de parler avec les invités. Les heures de travail sont également courtes et le travail est simple, donc j'avais beaucoup de temps pour explorer la région. Les hôtes étaient très amicaux et ont répondu à tout ce que j'ai demandé.

I really enjoyed my stay in Hippie Hostel, the duties were easy to carry and the staff was very kind with me. I had to work a couple of hours per day and I received accomodation and food. Chania is a lovely place that I enjoyed a lot!

All I had to do was to clean for 2-3 hours a day, everything was just as discussed before my trip. You share a room with other travelers, which is a great opportunity to meet them. There's also a shared kitchen and a roof terrace for you to enjoy. The hostel is just 3 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from the center of Chania. It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I would highly recommend it :)

I had fun! The location is very good, and the hostel soooo beautiful!!! People were very nice, the host is very nice and helpful. I agree with previous volunteer about the work. It wasn't what i applied for, but it was nothing hard. I did the cleaning of the hostel nothing to detailed, on my own terms when it comes to working hours. I made breaks when i wanted and cleaned when i felt is the best for me. It took me max of 4 hours if not less to finish everything, so i would say that it is pretty flexible. The guests of the hostel are also nice people so i didn't have bad experiences with anyone.

The hosts were very friendly and made me feel welcome, however, upon arrival the project had changed entirely from what I had agreed to online. I had agreed to 4 hours of bar work, 5 nights a week, in the evening, with 2 days off a week and 3 meals a day provided. When I arrived I was told the bar was closed so I'd be cleaning the whole hostel alone every day, in the middle of the day, only 2 days off for the whole time I was there, and no food provided. I did continue for 11 days, but after returning after my one day off to find nobody had cleaned I felt taken advantage of. It's also lonely.
