J'ai vécu une incroyable première expérience de volontariat au l'auberge de jeunesse. Je le recommande à 100%. Tous bien vaillant et à l'écoute. C'est une vraie expérience de vie humaines où on est entouré de différentes nationalités qui viennent des 4 coins du mondes. Des personnes avec des personnalités et des cultures différentes qui se réunissent et qui partagent des moments qui resteront gravé pour toujours. Merci l'auberge de jeunesse pour cette magnifique opportunité et peut-être à bientôt.

This place will be always in my heart. I had such a wonderful time; I never dreamed of living on a big intercultural family like this, and having the opportunity to meet many travellers from different countries. I had lots of fun, I saw stunning places in Scotland, and I made some friendships that I will cherish for ever. The work is flexible, there are different things that you can choose to do and many new things you can learn! Gabs, Penny and Dale are really kind and supporting. I can't recommend this experience enough, thank you HSH, I would love to come back someday.

The hostel is a great place to meet people, stay and enjoy the beauties of Edinburgh. The team is great and the work easily stays in the 14 hours. It is also possible to visit the Highlands through the hostel, with tours or alone. I had a great time and even as a loner you always feel welcome in the hostel.

Guys I just checked in for my shift at the happiness factory and our newest product is Scotland hostels. If you cheeky travellers want a REAL Edinburgh stay… don't pass up on the opportunity to volunteer at the hostel. I truly believe that every person I met at the hostel is wonderful and unique in the best way possible. I hope that they leave as positive an impact on all the other people they meet as they've done upon myself. Seriously the hostel has a very special place in my heart 🫶🫶

My month in edinburgh has been absolutely amazing! Hsh is such a special place, i loved every second of being there. Every single volunteer and staff member is sosososo wonderful, i dont think words alone can do them justice<3 as for the work, the hours are as written, 14 a week, either cleaning or hosting events, very straight forward:):) Again i cant recommend hsh enough!

Ter a experiência de voluntariar no hostel foi incrível, o lugar é muito lindo e organizado! Na verdade eu não esperava que fossem tantos voluntários, mas foi uma surpresa agradável porque todo mundo se dá muito bem, a comunicação é muito clara, todos se ajudam e respeitam um ao outro e, para além disso, você se sente realmente parte da família. Por conta do ambiente leve conheci muitas pessoas que retornaram para fazer voluntariado de novo, o que é maravilhoso. O trabalho é realmente tranquilo, bem explicado e dividido, eu amei e voltaria novamente com certeza 🫶🏻

I had an amazing month volunteering at the hostel! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Edinburgh, but what made the experience truly special was the people. I met volunteers and guests from all over the world, made great friends and shared so many good moments. The shifts were well organized and flexible, so I also had time to explore Edinburgh and travel around Scotland. A special thank you to Gabs for being so welcoming, kind and supportive throughout my stay. I'm leaving with wonderful memories and a lot of gratitude. This is not goodbye, I'll definitely come back! ❤️

HSH was the best, most magical first volunteering experience possible. I've learnt so much about myself, had inspiring chats, created beautiful memories, and formed bonds that turned into precious friendships. Dale, Gabs, and Penny were always understanding and helpful when I had questions and the hours gave me time to explore Edinburgh and the Highlands! HSH helped me grow and become the person I want to be. It will forever hold a special place in my heart! I am endlessly grateful that I got to be a part of the wonderful team and got to experience this adventurous, surreal life. I loved it!!!

I stayed at the hostel for two months and got the opportunity to join such a beautiful group of people from so many different places and explore Edinburgh from a perfect location! The work is straightforward and the 14 hours are respected, and not to mention there are many different jobs/roles you can choose in order to obtain the hours! I just want to say thank you to Gabs, as she works so hard to make sure the hostel runs smoothly and to make the experience special for every volunteer! Overall, I left Edinburgh with a heavy heart but I cannot recommend the hostel enough! <<33 x

The hostel felt like a second home from day one. Dale and Gabriella were incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was clear and comfortable. The tasks were well organized, the schedule was flexible, and volunteers' time was always respected. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Edinburgh. The best part was the people—I met amazing volunteers and travelers from all over the world who quickly became like family. I've made memories and friendships I'll never forget. Without a doubt, this has been the best volunteering experience I've had.
