Are You Applying to Volunteer at CEWARI NATURE RESERVE ?

Itacare - Bahia
Itamambuca - São Paulo

For those coming to CEWARI for 8 or more days. Please make sure you understand all the concepts delivered on the online course, and practice by creating some individual exercises designed by yourself. Use the practical guide as guidance for your designs. Make sure your PREP homework is original and authentic, not just a copy or variation of the exercises presented on the guide.

Till now, you have learned the theoretical foundations of outdoors mind workout.

As a volunteer, you will venture to help creating GROUP WORKOUT EXERCISES.

.

Steps to volunteering at CEWARI

Preparation

Step 1) Complete the theoretical course, and prepare 6 short exercises, different from the ones in the Practical Guide Volume 1. It has to be finished no later than 5 days before arrival date, and send together with the signed Entrance Agreement to the email: [email protected]

Download the Entrance Agreement document, located on this page, print it and sign please.

The 6 ideas of group exercises should consider: 2 based on a rainforest, 2 based on a river side, 2 based on a beach. Send no later than 5 days before to the same email.

Observation: The ideas should not be fully explained as in the guide, but organised and clear enough to start working on a full explanation.

Nature Immersion

Step 2) Wait for feedback and cofirmation from the Project administrator. If necessary, you will receive comments on how to improve your use of the tool.

Our main objective is to develop quality education, therefore we take this work seriously, and expect the same from applicants.

Step 3) Day 1 at the CEWARI RESERVE. Arrive no later than 13.00 please. To start and finish your first day of work before it gets dark. On day first, the volunteer will familiarize with the forest of stay, including trails and facilities. Besides, there will be a meeting about the execution of the tasks to be done on the following days, and ideas for new exercises.

Step 4) Day 2 and 3 are for work on creating two workout excercises. Afternoon meeting will be held with the admin, to listen about the ideas, and the organization and structuring of the new exercises. Volunteers will stay at the forest during this two days to create psychoecological connection with the forest dynamics.

Step 5) Day 4 the volunteer will go to the beach and create two beach based ecopsychological group excercise.

Step 6) Day 5 the volunteer will work on editing and organizing all the exercises on a digital text document and send it to the email [email protected]

This editing work can be done at the beach, river, rocky coast line, any natural spot the volunteer chooses to go. We only require to keep the connection with natural spaces. Avoiding urban settings, such as: cafe, bar, restaurant, stret market, and other non natural environments.

Step 7) Day 6 and 7 are days off. Day 8 for final edits to the original work.

Step 8) Volunteers are welcome to stay more than 8 days. However, from day 9 foward, tasks will change to help with general maintenances of trails, and landscaping.

REMOTE WORKERS OR DIGITAL NOMADS, are not allowed on this volunteering, except if they are on holidays or a full break from work during the 8+ days at CEWARI Reserve.

IMPORTANT! Please try doing some mind exercises as in
the examples provided in the course, but using your own creativity to design the exercises.
The preparatory training homework must be finished 5 days before the arrival date. As proof of the preparation, the applicant will email the homework to:
[email protected]

We reserve the right to cancel the application if the volunteer shows no sign, nor timely interest of completing the course homework before arrival.

Activités et horaires

Activities and Daily Reflection

Volunteers take part in ecological and creative activities, such as: trail maintenance,
gardening and reforestation, forest preservation, and art with natural materials. More
importantly, they are invited to engage in personal reflection and growth through the use of
the “PERMA DIARY”—a guided journal based on the PERMA model of well-being: Positive
Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment.
Each day, volunteers document how the forest interacts with their emotions, thoughts, and
sensations: when they wake up, during their work, while eating breakfast, and after their
activities. This daily journaling becomes a mirror of their experience and a record for
scientific understanding of how wild nature can foster mental resilience and emotional
balance.

Who Is This Program For?
The volunteer program is open to everyone: people with trauma, those facing anxiety or
depression, leaders seeking deeper strength, and individuals already well who want to grow
even stronger.
The forest welcomes all—it helps people not just to be better, but to get better, to overcome,
and to become more whole.

Règles

A Transcendent Purpose

What happens during the 14-day immersion doesn’t stay in the forest. It ripples outward.
The knowledge, clarity, and resilience gained by each participant are carried into families,
communities, institutions, and society at large. This is not only a personal journey, but a
contribution to something larger: a global shift in how we relate to ourselves, others, and
the Earth.

A New Kind of Research

In this forest valley, volunteers become part of a new kind of research—one that honors
both scientific insight and natural wisdom. Each diary, each conversation, and each
sensation observed becomes part of a deeper understanding of how nature shapes human
well-being.
