Casona Furlong
Nuestro lugar está ubicado en una casona del Siglo XVII en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de Puebla, zona altamente rica en cultura y comercios de todo tipo lo que nos convierte en un lugar ideal para vivir. Cosme Tortas, un pequeño pero muy acogedor restaurante de comida rápida mexicana, donde requerimos de la ayuda de un voluntario para ofrecer a nuestros huéspedes y comensales una experiencia culinaria y cultural de alta calidad.
El ambiente es muy amigable y cooperativo ya que tenemos claro que el objetivo de la casona es preservar la riqueza cultural de Puebla y para ello es necesario operar varios negocios en esta para llevar a cabo las obras de restauración y mantenimiento del lugar. Chayo nos ayuda con la limpieza de la casa y el patio; Lupita se encarga de la tiendita de abarrotes; y Francisco se encarga de los trabajos de técnicos del lugar. Hacemos muy buen equipo porque ya tenemos definidas nuestras tareas y responsabilidades.

Ha sido todo un reto personal el formar parte del equipo de Cosme Tortas, lleno de aprendizaje y personalmente una experiencia interesante si quieres empaparte de un pedacito de la gastronomía de este gran país. Muy agradecida por la confianza a abrir las puertas de su hogar y negocio.

Guile & Georgina are the absolute best hosts one could ask for. My experience here was super productive — cooking every day, learning a lot about Poblano culture and doing endless things here and around the city. Guile & his family were kind enough to take me out to numerous places, bars, restaurants, workshops etc. Always super accommodating, checking if everything is okay & if I needed anything extra. My hours were respected & Guile was always quick to respond to any queries. Couldn't have spent my time in a better way and with better company here in Puebla. Lots of love you guys <3

Guile was truly a helpful and kind host who also communicates very well i was taught how to prepare tortas and other dishes on the menu by the young team and also got to deliver some orders and walk around puebla sometimes after work guile and geo invited me to hang out with them and their friends which I really appreciated I also had a blast with the rest of the team because they were very funny, kind and energetic even though it was sometimes hard to follow their conversations because I didn't speak spanish that well they included me wherever possible

I had a nice experience volunteering at Cosme tortas. I got to learn a lot about the Mexican culture and Poblano cuisine through the team working there. Thank you Georgina and Guile for the experience , and for making my stay comfortable as much as you could.

We volunteered as a couple for 2.5 weeks, which included special events due to the restaurants 5 year anniversary. The accomodation was comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming - they showed us good local restaurants and were keen to for us to learn about Poblano food and culture. We volunteered in the kitchen and front of house, areas where we have experience. The restaurant is pretty quiet so there is not always much work to do, but the staff are all great and we were able to spend time chatting and practing our Spanish. Would definitely recommend volunteering here.
