Johnson's Homestay Ecohouseboat

Johnson Gilbert, il proprietario, ha gestito un negozio di musica per molti anni prima di aprire la sua attività di homestay ad Alleppey. Attualmente ci sono solo 2 membri dello staff e il vivace figlio di Johnson, (The Kid) Aaryan, di 5 anni.
I volontari diventeranno parte della famiglia, a condizione che svolgano i loro doveri e abbiano il carattere per integrarsi.

Ho trascorso un periodo molto piacevole a Johnson’s! È una persona simpatica e molto brava a mantenere gli orari di lavoro; mi sono sentito/a a mio armon di prendersi cura del giardino, è una splendida casa di ospiti. Il cibo era delizioso e Allepey e i backwaters valgono davvero una visita!

Sono stato accolto con tè e un grande sorriso! Ho apprezzato molto il mio soggiorno presso la casa. Il lavoro era piacevole, gli ambienti erano incantevoli (alberi e un giardino tutto intorno alla casa!), e essendo a metà strada tra la spiaggia e il centro della città, sono riuscito a passeggiare con calma. I pasti erano deliziosi e abbondanti 😋. Johnson è una persona meravigliosa con forti valori; il suo amore per gli animali è commovente, così come la sua generosità. Grazie!

I had a great time at the home place. He's super friendly, explained everything clearly, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The work was just as described, and the food was amazing—homemade and healthy. I also got to learn about the local area and culture, which made the experience even better. Totally recommend it!

I didn't have a pleasant experience, the room that he gave me wasn't appropriate, next day he switched me to another room, it was a lot better, but a rat was in the washroom almost every night. The host and his wife didn't socialize with me, he asked me to left before. I was cleaning a very dirty washroom with an acid that he gave me to clean, and I was sweating cleaning with that toxicity, no protection and warm. He went and told me to do it quick. I replied angry "can you see me how I am, I can't do it quickly" and he said that he didn't mean it, at the end i said sorry to yelling and left.

La prima brutta esperienza con una worldpacker volontaria. C'era una brutta vibrazione di fondo intorno a lei dal momento in cui è entrata. Lei è divorziata, infelice, ha problemi di rabbia ed è in sovrappeso. Direi anche che è una minaccia per gli altri e per se stessa.

The experience was mindblowing. Johnson was an excellent host; the place was beautiful, with a big garden. He explained the tasks that needed to be done and gave me the time to do them. He is an honest, open-minded guy and expects the people coming there to be the same. He frequently asked me if I had any issues with the food and accommodation. He even took me on a small tour along the backwaters. The food offered here was delicious,they offer good local food. Johnson respects the work hours and abides by them.He is very particular about the quality of my work, which enabled me to learn a lot.
