I had an amazing time, the staff were really welcoming and I felt sage in the school. Helpinh to teach the children was a really great experience and they were really lovely. I would definitely volunteer there again.

I had a wholesome experience volunteering at MEI. The staff were friendly and made my stay comfortable. Thank you to Pauline, Helen, Lilian, Francis…😊. The children are super awesome and so friendly, they are ever smiling and trust that you will receive a lot of hugs 🫂 . I enjoyed spending time with them as well as volunteering in the kitchen. I learnt how to make chapati. I highly recommend volunteering at MEI.

Pavel offers to the children: quality the organization, food all day long, a place where they can feel safe… The staff also does an incredible job. However, I think the project and the missions of the volunteer side must be rethought. For having done several volunteer missions before, there is very little work to do in Makuyu as a volunteer. We agreed with the other volunteers on this point, which unfortunately can make the days very long. So before to come, be sure that other responsibilities and tasks are thought out and put in place… at the risk of feeling very little useful.

Apprezzo la tua risposta costruttiva. Siamo passati da una scuola per bambini a una scuola dell'infanzia dopo che la pandemia è scoppiata. Mentre eravamo una casa per bambini, i bambini erano affidati a volontari 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7. Tuttavia, ora dobbiamo ristrutturare un po' il programma per tenere conto di ciò che i volontari possono fare quando i bambini non sono più con noi. The staff including the teachers and the cooks were very good to me. I appreciated how either Helen or Lillian would cook for us and make sure the volunteers had enough to eat, and hot bathing water. The facilities could be improved. The toilet was a hole in the ground and the bathing room could not be latched from the inside. I requested some nails on the inside of the door so clothes could be hung instead of being put on the floor. A new building was being built when I left, they said would have running water instead of having to fetch it out of a well.

An amazing experience. The duties consist of daily activities, laundry, cleaning and cooking. I hope I have been useful, the kids are away most part of the day but one tries to get good quality moments with them while they are there. I filled my heart of love, I will miss the good nights kiss. Love you all, hope to meet you again !!

I had the best experience of my life! The kids and the children's home are amazing! You learn about the truth love and what is really important in this life! I loved so much my days there and I already miss everyone! ♥️

I spent three of the best months of my life in Makuyu children's home! The kids are amazing and they teach you more about love than you can ever imagine! You can live the real Kenyan experience in Makuyu with the delicious Grace's food, learn how wash clothes with your hands and also learn how to teach! It's a amazing experience that you'll remember for the rest of your life! Can't wait to come back!

Makuyu is a lovely place! The kids are wonderful! And the women help you when you need. I booked to stay 2 weeks but I didn't want to leave so I stayed 1 month, got so close to the kids! I am going to miss them a lot! Thank you children's house for everything!

I would say it was one of the most memorable birthday of my life. The moment I came, I felt that these kids would leave a mark in my heart. In such a short period of time, I get to see part of them that I will never forget. They are one of the most genuine kids I've ever met and spending time with them makes my heart really happy. Pauline and the staff are very kind and welcoming. I will definitely come back and stay longer next time. :)

It was an amazing experience, the culture it's so interesting, the kids are adorable, and the place it's relaxing. I spend such a great time and evoluate like a person also. Hope to see Nepal in another time!
