Dettagli del programma
Our Volunteer Program offers a unique opportunity to be part of a Japanese Kindergarten and a nursery, and to see how they operate. Volunteers support kindergartens and nursery schools through playing with children, assisting teachers, joining daily activities and participating in daily classroom life.
This role does not involve any form of teaching and it is completely a supportive position.
When schools are closed on weekdays (for holidays or special events), volunteers contribute to a variety of organizational projects, including supporting our animal welfare program, maintenance work, and other activities that benefit the local community.
We provide rice, pasta, oils, basic condiments, spices, occasionally tea, coffee and some extras. Everything we supply will be vegan and you will need to to purchase your own protein and vegetables.
Attività e turni
- Play, communicate, and interact with kindergarten and preschool children.
- Assist teachers with daily classroom routines and activities.
- Take part in Japanese songs, traditions, festivals and seasonal activities
- Help prepare or take part in educational and recreational activities.
- Support special organizational projects when schools are closed, such as: Animal welfare and rescue activities and maintenance projects.
- General organizational support as needed.
This program is ideal for volunteers who enjoy working with children, are outgoing, have an optimistic mindset, are pro-active, interested in Japanese culture, and are eager to contribute to meaningful community and animal welfare initiatives, while connecting with people from around the world.
Regole
We are very serious and passionate about the volunteering we do at the schools. Volunteers will be made aware of all concerns, rules, responsibilities and perks during the screening process.
We are primarily a cat welfare organization and take animal welfare very seriously. All volunteers may come into contact with cats in the live in house kitten room, so we are looking for volunteers who are empathetic towards cat welfare and are not highly sensitive or allergic or uncomfortable around cats.
All rules and conduct will be provided ahead, in writing and in detail. Volunteers will have time before joining the program to carefully review them, clarify anything, and ask any questions before joining the program.
It is vital for a meaningful and happy experience for everyone involved that we are on the same page, before we accept you onto to the program.
