21 hours of organizing (Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday each day 7 hours guided inexperienced work). Creating better order in many items for reconstruction for this summer. Sorting out old roof materials and fixing drywall or other instructed insulation or reorder work. Making order replacing construction materials so that some gardening could be done. Alternativly some cleaning of items for the flea market sales or making minor prophets with reconstruction materials that are existing and cluttering my construction site, and finally a lot of cleaning. Not included in the hours is cleaning of the own living area before leaving again. This is separate and doesn't count towards the hourly task demanded for accommodation (not a business Airbnb or hotel mama 😁visitors please - had enough of those). You can't invite people to the accommodation but need to meet them outside.
Even if not a city, the area has a lot that can be explored during the stay, but it is not suitable for those who like constant partying.
I don't have regular income and struggle to pay taxes of the property and the electricity so I can't provide all the people need like hygiene articles, paper, nor food, but I share some basic food with you and occasionally I prepare meals to share. Simple drinks are frequently available like tea, syrup or another treats when we are free of work. During your stay, you also need to maintain your living area and keep it clean. I take it seriously and will be checking on the guesthouse as l had before bad experiences regarding the agreement on the rules. Too much got destroyed, and as the helpers are leaving, l don't want to stay back with damages and costs. Be neat and clean with pleasure. I can't tolerate pretenders and lazy people expecting me a disabled person to clean after them. Sorry, this folks who aren't really helpers but opportunity seekers can go to youth hostels and chill there.
This place needs dedicated helpers, future friends and it can become a returning place as it already is for some traveling volunteers who're (RE)turning as helping friends.🙏🏼 Thanks to all nice helpers.
Trying to match my work hours and your needs we would be working mostly during the week! Mostly 3 or Max 4 days until completed the 21 hours of work for a week. No breaks during work as the hours are short, but there is a lot of free time before or afterwards. The hours are mostly Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday but sometimes other days when I work or have to adapt them to other scheduled tasks.
In general I look that after the hours are done people have block of 3 or 4 days free time so they could take longer trips as from Basel all over the central Europe are possible and attractive. Arrival only late Sunday or Monday as we work during the week and I try to earn some income on the weekends.
No smoking anywhere inside, no alcohol or
drugs, no visitors.
Be clean + orderly, saving energy (no wasting energy). You need to buy your food and any other supply for yourself like soap, toilet paper, or whatever you need. I provide Sheets for two weeks and the change is only if you stay 4 weeks. A washing machine is available at the shopping mall as mine is broken. You can use the kitchen to prepare own food from 06:00 till 22:30 and leave it cleaned.
Couples are very welcome but can't expect total privacy unless we agree on a longer stay and I see the couple being a diligent helper. In that case, we can talk about your needs and see how we work it out regarding hours. Sometimes apartment can also be rented for 50 Euro per day for two people. Not rented to singles. Long-term is also possible if you can pay in advance.
