Minha experiência na Ivy League Academy foi muito especial. Fui recebida com muito carinho pelo William, pela Maria e, principalmente, pelas crianças. Tive a oportunidade de fazer parte da rotina das crianças, ajudar nas aulas, nas atividades e também contribuir com alguns projetos para a escola. As crianças são carinhosas, curiosas, cheias de energia e fizeram cada dia dessa experiência valer a pena. Recomendo essa experiência para quem deseja conhecer o Quênia para além do turismo, se conectar de verdade com a comunidade local e viver algo que tenha significado

I bambini sono molto affettuosi e amorevoli. Anche loro sono molto intelligenti e laboriosi. La scuola ha una routine, e i bambini sono costantemente impegnati nell'apprendimento.

My experience with the the school was a one of kind. Among all of what I have experienced in around the world, this one was so special in all dimensions. Starting with the amazing William, the person who made my experience a great one. The person who dedicated his schedule to make sure that I have everything I need to be ready for the experience. He has made everything so clear starting by providing all the needed information to be prepared for what to expect, and closing with a nice introduction to his lovely team. My experience was phenomenal, the kids were amazing and played an amazing part

The experience at the the school was good, the kids are lovely and so curious when see a foreign person. the the school staff is also very kind, they try to make you feel welcomed. Besides William tries to make you feel welcomed and encourages you to some activities to get to know more about Kenya, some times the atmosphere at his home isn't good at all, and he is permanently and indirectly pushing you to make donations to the the school.

William and his family was a brilliant host they made me feel like one of there own from the very first day . the the school is a magical place which you will straight away fall in love with more than you can ever imagine I loved teaching all the children . I miss everyone so much and can't wait to return . Thank you for the best few weeks of my life

I had a wonderful time in at the the school Academy in Thika with William's family. William really treats you like family and wants you to have a really good experience there. He has hosted over 100 volunteers so his family is very experienced with these experiences. William has an amazing and clear vision/plan for where he wants to take this project and he's very open about all the details and challenges that go into it. the the school has lovely students who are very excited to learn. the the school has a special welcome/goodbye parties for you. I miss everyone so much! Thank you William!

Mi experiencia en este voluntariado fue muy buena, Will es un host presente y con disposición a ayudarnos en lo que pidiéramos, aunque esta ocupado con otros proyectos, nos escucho y apoyó en lo que queríamos lograr. Las horas en la escuela son más de las acordadas, pero si eres un voluntario motivado, puedes hacer muchas cosas distintas en la escuela, yo hice clases no solo de biología si no de más asignaturas, ayude en la cocina, etc. Thika también es un lugar muy agradable para estar, incluso ir a tomar una cerveza. Hice Safaris con la ayuda de Will. Fue una gran experiencia :)

We made history together. I stayed for 2 months in the the school Will was definitely the best host I could have had. I was treated like family the whole time. We got the chance to fundraise, teach kids, be part of the NGO management, negotiate land, meet families, donors, kids - it was like and MBA in international development. Also we started to build a sustainable model for the the school, so it wouldnt depend only on donations. Will is a very intelligent person with a lot of street knowledge. Also he took me to some amazing sights in Kenya like Maasai Mara and Nakuru lake.

I do not recommend this volunteering. Most of the agreements I made with William were not fulfilled. I did not teach, as he said. I did not help organizing the the school, as he said. I did not help with new the school projects, as he said. The only help that will be appreciated in here is how much money you can give or get by finding sponsors for the the school. Money which is not invested in the the school. It is expected from you to share all you do in your personal social media. We agreed I will stay for two months, however, William asked me to leave during the second week. Accommodation and food were ok.

La escuela Academy es un hermoso proyecto con un impacto social muy grande en la vida de las niñas, niños y adolescentes. Durante mi estadía pude realizar muchas actividades desde recreación, clases y hasta la construcción de un patio. Sin duda fue una experiencia que transformó mi vida ya que el proyecto es un espacio seguro para la comunidad escolar. Me gustaría destacar que para vivir la experiencia es importante es tener flexibilidad ya que la organización cambia según el acontecer y trabajar la comunicación asertiva para que puedas tener una buena estancia. Gracias por la oportunidad!
