I volunteered at this hostel in Marrakesh and had a positive experience. The manager is honest, very respectful, and takes good care of the volunteers, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. I stayed for three weeks and wish I could have spent more time! Faical was very welcoming and provided us information on the local customs, things to do and a weekly allowance for breakfast. The work was easygoing (general housekeeping and cleaning tasks), and usually consisted of an hour cleaning in the morning and a few hours at reception in the afternoon. The hostel is in a great location, a short walk to anything you need, and the sunset view from the rooftop was stunning. Faical was a great host, who cares for the volunteers, guests and their experience. Thanks for a lovely stay! :)

Questa esperienza non è stata quella che mi aspettavo, sin dall'inizio non mi sentivo a mio agio. Un punto era che quando ho fatto l'intervista non mi hanno mai detto che all'arrivo avrei dovuto firmare un contratto ed è stato una sorpresa per me; poi abbiamo avuto altre cose e ho parlato con Faisal e siamo giunti alla stessa conclusione, che lui non si sentiva a mio agio con me e per questo sono andato via prima, ma per quanto riguarda l'orario, loro rispettano ciò che ti dicono. Sono in una buona posizione, e la colazione che offrono è in un ristorante molto buono. Ma anche se le cose sono andate così, sono grato a loro per tutto.

Davvero non volevamo scrivere una cattiva recensione per non rovinare il tuo profilo e non influenzare l'opinione degli altri host su di te. Jimena è arrivata con un atteggiamento molto passivo, era chiusa di mente, sempre nella sua bolla, non voleva interagire con gli ospiti né con il personale. Contava ogni minuto extra che lavorava. Era sempre o sul suo telefono o sul computer. Non portava una energia positiva nel posto. Fin dall'inizio, abbiamo avuto l'impressione che non avesse intenzione di terminare il suo volontariato con noi.

Mi è piaciuto molto il tempo trascorso nell'ostello. Il lavoro era abbastanza facile, e il posto era abbastanza comodo per stare lì, vicino alle principali attrazioni ed è anche all'interno della medina. Faical è stato molto disponibile e i compiti erano abbastanza chiari e facili da seguire. Ci ha anche fornito dei voucher per la colazione gratuiti, il che è stato davvero gentile da parte sua. Ho avuto la sensazione di non aver vissuto pienamente l'esperienza del lavoro alla reception, poiché non c'erano molti ospiti durante il mio soggiorno, il che era comprensibile, dato che l'ostello aveva appena aperto in quel momento.

El hostel cuenta con una excelente ubicación, se encuentra cerca de atracciones turisticas como la Medina y el zoco, también tiene unas vistas maravillosas y las camas son super confortables. En mi estadía no hubo mucho flujo de huespedes lo que hacía que mis horas fueran estando en la recepción ante cualquier eventualidad pero sin mucho por hacer.. pero en los días que hubieron grandes grupos, pude conocer a una persona increíble que cocinaba para ellos (: Estuve sola como voluntaria la gran mayoría del tiempo. Cualquier duda que tenga algún/a viajero/a, feliz de comentarla

Posso notare dalla tua recensione che hai passato un ottimo periodo e ti sei divertito a fare volontariato con noi. Tuttavia, dovresti sapere che una valutazione di 3 è considerata negativa per WP, quindi questo potrebbe influire su di noi e probabilmente farci lasciare WP e non offrire opportunità di volontariato simili per i viaggiatori che cercano di scoprire il nostro bellissimo paese. Prendi in considerazione questi punti e non confrontare mai ostelli in paesi diversi o addirittura continenti. Pensa semplicemente all'esperienza che hai avuto in generale.

The host Faical is a very respectful, responsible and caring person. He was making sure that I was feeling welcomed at any time. The work was a lot but he told me that beforehand. I can recommend this place if you want to explore Marrakesh and get the feeling of living and working in this city. The hostel is very nice and the host is very friendly.

En primera instancia todo fue bien, Faisal fue respetuoso y cumplía con lo señalado, el problema es cuando hay reservas de grupos grandes, en base a mi experiencia no hace una buena organización de los cuartos y puede que te toque dormir en recepción (un lugar abierto en donde pasan huéspedes y con cámaras ) , .. Faisal no acepta críticas constructivas, le sugeri que podría hacer una mejor gestión con los cuartos para que en un futuro no tuviera problemas con voluntarios lo que conllevó a que el pusiera fin a mi voluntariado 12 días antes de lo acordado.

In my case, I decided to extend my stay because, at first, I really enjoyed the experience as a volunteer. However, when groups started arriving, the atmosphere changed, and the work became more demanding, which made me feel uncomfortable and exhausted. The lack of communication and some misunderstandings also affected my experience. Finally, in agreement with Faical, I decided to end my stay earlier than planned, as my energy and motivation had changed considerably. I would have liked to share more, but we didn't quite connect. Either way, I'm grateful for the experience. :)

I spent 2 meaningful weeks in the hostel. I work 5 hours per day, normally 1 hours cleaning in the morning and 4 hour reception. The distribution of the time depends on days. The hostel is a nice environment, there is no other staff and less than 8 guests when I stayed there. Faical provided me 35 dirham per week for breakfast, plus I can use the kitchen and some food in the fridge. The hostel is at the prime location of the hostel tourism centre. Near bahia palace.

My time at the hostel was really good. The environment is super chill and familiar. My stay was during the begining of the season, so there were not many guests but to me that was something ok, because I could enjoy times of calmness. The hostel is super well located, the rooms are good and Faical is really nice and respectfull. I felt welcomed like I was home. The tasks were simple and the hours were followed, just be aware that the schedule is split during the day, so a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. My favorite time of the day was sunset at the rooftop. It's precious!
