Nella nostra attività quotidiana abbiamo bisogno di aiuto per pulire e preparare le camere, ma è importante quanto chiacchierare con gli ospiti e farli sentire i benvenuti qui.
Tutto nel posto è in costante cambiamento: stiamo ricostruendo e riorganizzando le cose tutto il tempo, quindi a volte abbiamo bisogno di aiuto con la costruzione, la pittura e la preparazione per aprire la nostra terrazza sul tetto — questo significa far crescere piante e realizzare diversi progetti di artigianato!

Giardinaggio: Aiuta a coltivare piante e curare giardini
2 giorni liberi a settimana
Dormitorio condiviso: Avrai un letto in una camera condivisa, il che significa che condividerai la stessa stanza con altri viaggiatori.
Colazione: Hai diritto a una colazione gratuita, ogni giorno del tuo soggiorno.

Our Eco-hostel is run by NGO, non-profit organization. All revenue goes to maintain the hostel and support our different eco-projects that are in progress. We have existed in Tartu for around 10 years. Our hostel family currently has 6 members - 4 receptionists and Sigrit and Helgur - the founders of the hostel.
We are focused on green living and re/up-cycling and want to show our guests, volunteers and also people in town how small changes in everyday habits are easy but can make a difference. Besides that we value creativity - we are always a work in progress. Our aim is to host people who love traveling and socializing but want to keep their ecological footprint small. Raising awareness of environmental issues and inspiring travelers to be more environment-conscious are our main goals.
Usual working hours for the volunteers are in the mornings 10.00-14.00 (15.00 if it is a very very busy day). 2 days in a week are free but almost never on weekends and on row. Also, if you are volunteering as a couple or with a friend we cannot promise that you get a day off together!
If we have more time on our hands or there are more than 3 volunteers staying we will ask you to help us with extra tasks: painting, building, fixing, doing different craft projects, organizing events and so on.
A new and important task for all volunteers is contributing to our social media presence - this mainly means posting on Instagram and Facebook, but why not introduce us to another platform :)
Depending if it is a high or low season some tasks vary. On low season or weekdays we are doing some renovation work but on weekends and high season it is all about rooms and cleaning.
We can provide sleeping in mixed dorm-rooms and sometimes we have to make some changes.
We do not provide food! We have a free food shelf in the fridge and free food basket but we can't guarantee that that's enough.
For us it is very important important that you have a plan B for when you get super sick or need to stay in isolation - we cannot provide you with free accommodation for that period of time! Also, please be prepared that if you get sick we might ask you to do a Covid/Flu test.
from volunteers we expect diligence, punctuality, attention to detail and independence in their work.
Other than that volunteers have plenty of free time and can move freely around Tartu and Estonia! Tho the previous text may seem a little intimidating don't worry - we are pretty easy-going!
