La mia esperienza con Matej, Yarka e Kubko è stata magica! Mi sono sentito immediatamente accolto nella loro casa e parte del team. Le mie responsabilità erano chiare e mi hanno lasciato molto tempo per esplorare la zona, sia nei giorni di lavoro che nei giorni di riposo, sia a piedi che usando la bicicletta fornita. Mi è piaciuto prendermi cura della casa e aiutare con i pasti e giocare anche con Kubko! La cena comunitaria e le conversazioni con i pellegrini di tutto il mondo sono state un'esperienza così arricchente e ispiratrice che non dimenticherò mai. Ho fatto diverse nuove amicizie e spero di aver lasciato anche una buona impressione degli Stati Uniti.

Matej e Jarka che gestiscono l'Albergue, insieme al loro adorabile bambino Kubko, non avrebbero potuto essere più accoglienti 🤗 Il lavoro e gli orari sono esattamente come pubblicizzato. Sei l'unico volontario, ma ci sono molte aree da esplorare nel tuo tempo libero, per le quali Matej ti darà cortesemente suggerimenti ben informati. L'intera zona, dall'ingresso alla costa, è mozzafiato. Inoltre, ascoltare i molti pellegrini che passano, le diverse storie e le ragioni per cui stanno facendo il Camino, è davvero stimolante e commovente. Questa intera esperienza di volontariato è molto gratificante.

È stata un'esperienza unica!
È una famiglia incantevole, molto premurosa; ti fanno sentire a casa e ti portano persino in spiaggia.
Le faccende sono semplici, la casa è come nuova e è un piacere pulirla.
E il cibo che preparano è delizioso.
Si trova proprio accanto al campo e ci sono bellissimi sentieri nelle vicinanze; si possono visitare spiagge e località vicine, come Llanes o San Vicente de la Barquera, o un po' più distanti, Oviedo e Gijón.
Ricorderò sempre questa esperienza e la gentilezza con cui mi hanno trattato.

Working with Matej and Yarka was a real pleasure. Meeting so many pilgrims while also having plenty of agency and independence for the free time. I loved the hostel, the surrounding areas where enchanting and completely a leg of the camino after my stay in the hostel was a life changing experience.

La experiencia en Casa de Peregrinos fue maravillosa. Me impresionó la generosidad y el compromiso de Matej, quien no sólo ofrece calidez y hospitalidad, sino que logra crear un verdadero hogar para los peregrinos, reflejando la esencia del Camino de Santiago. En cuanto al voluntariado, valoré la claridad en las tareas, el respeto por las horas de trabajo y la amabilidad de Matej, quien, además de sugerirme lugares para visitar, me llevó a la costa. Los paisajes del hostel y sus alrededores son preciosos. ¡Gracias por todo!

I'm glad I chose this Albergue for my first experience as a worldpacker. Matej is such a dedicated and passionate person, he takes care of every detail to create the best atmosphere for the guests. He's also genuinely interested in sharing knowledge, good food and beautiful hikes with the volunteers. Being able to contribute to the building of his project was very inspiring. The tasks for the volunteers are all manageable and very clearly explained. I had also a lot of free time to enjoy the amazing natural surroundings and the company of the pilgrims. I really hope I'll be back someday.

Matej is a great person with a very beautiful project, it was such a pleasure to be part of it ! He is very organized and willing to help you to discover this beautiful region as much as possible. The schedule and tasks are clear from the begining, and respected. The house is really cosy and makes you feel home right away. I can only recommand this experience with Matej in his Casa de Peregrinos :)

Mi experiencia fue fantastica, me senti muy a gusto, la casa es bella, muy organizado. Matej es un ser humano increible, caballeroso, bueno, considerado, muy comprometido con su proyecto en el hostel, es un verdadero anfitrion para los peregrinos, las tareas y la forma de llevarlas a cabo son faciles , su estilo es el de un buen lider para cualquier voluntario que tenga la suerte de llegar, compartimos en picos de Europa, la playas cercanas, lugares locales hermosos. Recomiendo a quienes deseen una experiencia motivadora y profunda este voluntariado . Gracias y exitos Matej

Mi primera experiencia como voluntaria aquí fue hermosa! Me sentí muy cómoda. Matej tiene un proyecto muy bonito, y lo lleva a cabo con mucha convicción. Fué muy enriquecedor poder compartir cada día con un grupo de personas diferente. Aprendí mucho y no sólo acerca del Camino de Santiago, y me sirvió para practicar inglés. En cuanto al trabajo Matej me dió indicaciones muy claras, las tareas son muy sencillas. El es una persona muy amable, respetuosa y muy buen cocinero :) Siempre dispuesto a ayudarte y a recomendarte algún lugar para explorar. La comida exquisita y saludable. Mil gracias!!!

I had a really great time in the hostel with Matej. The tasks were very manageable and the expectations were clear (and reasonable) from the start. I really appreciated the fact that Matej is so well organized, as I'm sure it's not the case with all volunteer positions. I met so many interesting people each night during the communal dinners, that was absolutely the highlight. The setting is idyllic, with both mountains and sea nearby, but it's also quite isolated - something to keep in mind. Overall, I would highly recommend, cool experience!
