Ho trascorso qui tre settimane per la mia prima esperienza di volontariato, e tutto è stato più che perfetto. Mentre ero lì, l'attività era lenta, ma non mi sono annoiato. I miei colleghi e il mio manager, il signor Hong, sono diventati persone che ricorderò per il resto della mia vita, e cercherò di tornare a visitare se ne avrò l'occasione. Detto questo, non credo che questo posto sia adatto alle persone che hanno bisogno di molta interazione sociale. Se le cose sono lente, devi essere in grado di trascorrere un po' di tempo da solo. Tuttavia, è perfetto per chi cerca la pace.

Questo posto mi ha dato molta pace, esattamente ciò che stavo cercando. Se stai cercando un luogo dove fare festa, questo non è il posto giusto per te. Ogni persona che lavora nell'ostello è stata molto gentile con me. Consiglio solo di avere un po' di pazienza, poiché l'inglese non è il loro punto forte e a volte può sembrare che non vogliano interagire, ma non è così. Il cibo è davvero buono, e senza dubbio, se dovessi tornare a Kampot, spero di tornare al Funky Moon. L'unica osservazione, sarebbe bello avere maggiore chiarezza con le istruzioni per il compito da svolgere

The vibe of the local Khmer people is something I will never forget. It was my first Worldpackers experience and I am so happy to have it be this place. The host is pretty chill about most things, mutual respect goes a long way. The location is great, even better if you manage to rent a motor bike. The staff are always making sure the facilities are kept up to shape. Its such a nice experience once you get used to the lifestyle. Definitely plan on coming back during the high season when much more is going on.

The hostel was super chill and the shifts were straight forward. You take food orders, drinks, serve them, keep the bar area clean and just have a good time. It was low season when I was there, but Day Ron made the time go by like a breeze. Super sweet manager that will always made you feel welcomed and appreciated. Lots of love to the hostel!

My time at the hostel was so special. I felt welcome immediately, and everyone who works here is so kind. The work is very relaxed, and gives you plenty of time to go and explore. This was my first Worldpackers experience, and I wouldn't change a thing. I learned so much about myself staying here, and a lot of that is thanks to Day Ron. He encouraged me to get out of my shell, and explore and meet new people. He has inspired me and my future travels, and I know he will have that impact on anyone who heads to the hostel. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Volunteering at the hostel was most definitely one of the best experiences I had since I left home. The job is really easy and leaves plenty of time to enjoy the town and the beautiful nature surrounding Kampot . The staff is amazing, everyone is really supportive and makes all the experience really enjoyable and fun. I'm so thankful for every moment and memory I created in a magical place that I'll always consider as a second home.

My time at both the hostel and Yellow Sun was truly magical. Meeting so many like-minded individuals - both local and international, led to so many friendships and connections. The managing staff are so friendly and helpful, you feel very welcomed. Great to have accommodation and covered meals, but the memories and experiences are what make it all worth it! Extra bonuses include cute dogs, amazing Khmer meals, lovely coworkers, and stunning sunsets.

I stayed at the hostel for 4 weeks in total and I felt welcomed the second I arrived. The staff ( Heng, Hong, Day'Ron and the kitchen ladys) did a great job entertaining me every day ;)) The work behind the bar ist really easy and I only needed a few days to become a pro bartender. You definitely have enough time to explore the city and do trips. Would definitely recommend, as this was my very first voulenteer experience. I'm gonna miss the dogs Cheddar, Timon, Pumba and Jasmine the most, as well as the cat Maroon. I DONT WANNA LEAVE - HELP PLEASE!

Anche noi non volevamo assolutamente che te ne andassi! Fin dal primo giorno hai portato un’energia così divertente e positiva a Funky Moon — sembrava che tu fossi sempre parte della famiglia. Vederti passare da principiante a barman professionista in pochissimo tempo è stato incredibile, e il tuo amore per gli animali (specialmente Cheddar, Timon, Pumba, Jasmine e la piccola Maroon!) è stata la cosa più dolce. Siamo così felici che questa sia stata la tua prima esperienza di volontariato — non sarebbe stata la stessa senza di te. La porta è sempre aperta. Torna quando vuoi! 💛🍹
