Nel complesso, non consiglierei di fare volontariato all'Hippie Hostel, poiché penso che l'atmosfera generale sia stata molto deludente e mi sia sentito a disagio lì dentro. Anche se il lavoro era molto facile (solo 2-3 compiti di pulizia al mattino), ho trovato molto difficile conoscere altri giovani in questo ostello e non l'ho trovato affatto socievole. Sono stato messo nella più grande dormitorio misto condiviso, cosa che di solito non mi importerebbe, tuttavia ho scoperto che le uniche persone che venivano all'ostello erano uomini più anziani. Inoltre, come parte del mio volontariato, si era concordato che avrei avuto un pasto al giorno, e quando sono arrivato nulla è stato detto a riguardo.

L'ostello è piccolo, e io ero l'unico volontario, quindi tieni presente che per praticare le lingue dovrai provare a parlare con gli ospiti. Le ore di lavoro sono anche brevi e il lavoro è semplice, quindi avevo molto tempo per esplorare la zona. I gestori erano molto disponibili e hanno esaudito tutto ciò che ho chiesto.

I really enjoyed my stay in Hippie Hostel, the duties were easy to carry and the staff was very kind with me. I had to work a couple of hours per day and I received accomodation and food. Chania is a lovely place that I enjoyed a lot!

All I had to do was to clean for 2-3 hours a day, everything was just as discussed before my trip. You share a room with other travelers, which is a great opportunity to meet them. There's also a shared kitchen and a roof terrace for you to enjoy. The hostel is just 3 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from the center of Chania. It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I would highly recommend it :)

I had fun! The location is very good, and the hostel soooo beautiful!!! People were very nice, the host is very nice and helpful. I agree with previous volunteer about the work. It wasn't what i applied for, but it was nothing hard. I did the cleaning of the hostel nothing to detailed, on my own terms when it comes to working hours. I made breaks when i wanted and cleaned when i felt is the best for me. It took me max of 4 hours if not less to finish everything, so i would say that it is pretty flexible. The guests of the hostel are also nice people so i didn't have bad experiences with anyone.

The hosts were very friendly and made me feel welcome, however, upon arrival the project had changed entirely from what I had agreed to online. I had agreed to 4 hours of bar work, 5 nights a week, in the evening, with 2 days off a week and 3 meals a day provided. When I arrived I was told the bar was closed so I'd be cleaning the whole hostel alone every day, in the middle of the day, only 2 days off for the whole time I was there, and no food provided. I did continue for 11 days, but after returning after my one day off to find nobody had cleaned I felt taken advantage of. It's also lonely.
