Mi sono divertito molto ad Arendal, tutto era molto rilassato e potevamo fare compiti diversi e vari durante la giornata. Sono stato super felice di incontrare Øystein e gli altri lavoratori all'epoca :) La vita di campagna, circondata da cavalli e animali da fattoria, è stata incredibile, un quartiere molto carino.

È stata la mia prima esperienza di volontariato e non potrei essere più felice. La fattoria è circondata dalla natura e hai ampio tempo per esplorarla. Lavorare con i cavalli è davvero unico e molto divertente. Øystein è molto paziente e si prende sempre il tempo per spiegarti tutto. Allo stesso tempo, si fida molto di te, il che significa che puoi svolgere compiti diversi e imparare sempre cose nuove. Mi mancherà il tempo qui e, naturalmente, anche i cavalli.

Ho trascorso un periodo assolutamente meraviglioso con Øystein nella sua fattoria. Ho imparato sui cavalli e il lavoro durante il mio soggiorno è stato molto piacevole. È il posto perfetto per tornare a contatto con la natura e concentrarsi sulla crescita personale. Øystein è adorabile e tratta i volontari molto gentilmente. Raccomando vivamente questo soggiorno! Io avevo aspettato e mi ero preparato per visitare la Norvegia, « la mia altra patria, » per innumerevoli anni, e il mio soggiorno con Øystein sull'isola tranquilla di Tromøya mi ha dato la perfetta introduzione a questo paese speciale. Dopo aver trascorso due settimane nella fattoria durante la transizione dall'estate all'autunno, posso confermare che tutto era assolutamente corretto e piacevole. Il lavoro, che può dipendere dalla stagione, era flessibile e coinvolgente, e avrei voluto fare molto di più durante il mio soggiorno. (Mi consiglierei anche di portare un buon paio di stivali impermeabili.) Anche se breve, la mia esperienza è stata calorosa e deliziosa—e molto di più.

Ci siamo davvero divertiti molto con Øystein! Ci ha lasciati vivere in modo abbastanza indipendente per avere non solo la nostra stanza ma un appartamento privato con cucina, bagno e salotto. Di solito lavoravamo al mattino e eravamo responsabili di tenere traccia delle nostre ore di lavoro da soli. Ben presto ci siamo affezionati al cane Varg, ai gatti e naturalmente ai cavalli. Øystein ci ha insegnato a lavorare con i cavalli guidandoli e ci ha permesso di fare una gita in carrozza e alcune escursioni a cavallo nei boschi con loro. Abbiamo fatto lavori agricoli e ristrutturazioni. Ci ha portato in una gita in barca e ci ha mostrato l'isola. Consiglio vivamente!

This was such a special experience for me! Øystein is a kind, funny, and caring host! He has a lot of great stories to share and he enjoys spending time with the volunteers and getting to know us. He took us on boat trips and we spent time at his boat house near the sea once we finished work. It was my first time with horses and I learned so much about them. They are so sweet and live in the perfect environment. The work is easy and reasonable and the farm itself is so peaceful and cozy. I loved my time there so much.

My time at Øystein's was truly a unique and special experience. Everyday I got to learn something new, like driving the tractor, which was super fun to do. Tromøya is a beautiful island, offering a lot of opportunities to embrace the Norwegian nature. If you want a very cultural experience, then you should visit Norway around mid-may which is when they have their national day. Øystein is an amazing host!! He is very patient and will teach you a lot about the farm life with working horses. I'm very thankful for the kindness I got to experience!! To tusen takk :)

Staying at Øystein's farm has been one of the best experiences. Øystein is a kind, noble, and funny man that makes you feel very welcome at his home. The work hours are absolutely fair and the tasks are accesible and diverse. It's a blessing to see how Øystein works with his animals. Moreover, the island is a hidden gem; full of history and landscapes. You can travel around the island with your bike, car or even take the ferry! The main city is also near (and beautiful!). My personal tip for a new volunteer would be to completely immerse yourself. Get to know the people and their culture!

This was really the best volunteering experience I had so far. I learned so many new things and it was always fun. Øystein was friendly and welcoming and the accomodation is really nice. The nature is beautiful there and you also learn much about the culture which was great. I had an amazing time and made unforgettable memories! I truly recommend it! Thank you for this experience!

To me this experience was a tranquil getaway from everyday, busy life. If you dont mind putting some physical work in, this place is definetly a go-to, to get a clear head and enjoy "farmlife". Tasks ranged from walking the dog to cleaning Windows or cutting sticks away from tree stumps so that theyre ready for transport. I was lucky enough that he let us work with the horses himself and it was a fun experience! :) Øystein was very friendly and always open to any kind of question! 10/10 would recommend :D
