I'm glad to say that this was my first volunteering and it had been a great experience! I had a great time there due to my new friends but also Anjali and her ambition to make everyone confortable. We learnt a lot of things, especially about gardening and how to live in a shared eco-place with different meals and a multicultural ambient!

Vila Orgánica is a beautiful and friendly place to spend some time. The tasks are easy and there is flexibility on how to organize it. People there is also very caring and attentive, and we have spend very nice evenings together. Also, the place is surrounded by nature, has many cute places to hang out, and four very friendly cats :)

I couldn't have asked for a better first volunteering experience. Anjali was an amazing host from day one, she treated us like part of her family. There was always a good vibe, tasty food, and the tasks were super simple. She and her mom welcome you with open arms and a genuine smile you'll truly appreciate. The atmosphere was always comfortable, and everything that was agreed upon was fulfilled without any issues. I'm leaving with a great experience, new learnings, and the certainty that I'd definitely come back. Thank you so much for everything, Anjali!

Sono rimasto lì durante il mese di settembre, quando non c'erano più ritiri in corso. Il lavoro consisteva principalmente in giardinaggio e costruzione. Il lavoro era abbastanza fisicamente impegnativo, quindi era difficile fare tutte e sei le ore di seguito. Ho dovuto fare alcune pause, il che ha fatto sì che il lavoro si prolungasse per tutta la giornata. Tuttavia, il luogo è molto bello, circondato dalla natura e con dei gatti carini in giro. Il mio soggiorno presso la comunità è passato in un lampo, e questo dice molto. L'ambiente era incredibile e amichevole, con momenti in cui si poteva essere soli se necessario e in compagnia altrimenti, condividendo un po' di tempo intorno a un falò, giocando a giochi, improvisando feste musicali e molto altro. Per quanto riguarda il lavoro, c'erano alcune attività necessarie che richiedevano attenzione, che sono state indicate da Anjali, ma lei preferisce lasciare che tu guidi i tuoi orari e le tue attività, quindi è apprezzato se hai indipendenza e un senso di ciò che è necessario in una casa di campagna. In generale il cibo era ottimo, la compagnia migliore, quindi te lo raccomando.

The conditions were breakfast, lunch and dinner, so i supposed that we had to cook for everyone in our work time, not breakfast and lunch for ourselves and also sometimes dinner for everyone in our free time plus six hours of working time. The hygiene was regrettable, i've got a urinary infection because nobody cleaned the bathrooms for an entire week (the toilets had stains that disappeared when we could finally clean them) because we were busy doing the tasks the host required like chopping wood in the sun. The place was full of nettles and unsanitary wc but she kept renting it to Airbnb.

Three volunteers left the same day, which says a lot. My partner and I expected a good experience based on reviews, but reality was very different. We worked longer hours than agreed, did heavy and potentially dangerous tasks outside during summer like wood chopping (not listed), we were expected to work even more during our free time, and the food was minimal we had to cook it ourselves and when there was a retreat we had to eat leftovers of the guests two hours after they finished. We left after the host told us that she was frustrated because we weren't washing guest dishes in our freetime.

The community was my first volunteer experience and it was pretty nice: I improved my physical and mental health thanks to eating vegetarian products and staying far away from the city noise. Furthermore I practiced English and German.
