We are a grassroots non-profit organization working on the frontlines of one of the largest humanitarian crises in the Americas. We operate a network of shelters along the refugee route, and depend on volunteers to help us keep our doors open to the refugees walking across Colombia. Volunteers help with food prep and cleaning in the shelters, as well as kids projects and medical support.

Descrizione: As a non-profit that designates all donations to our projects, the volunteers share the cost of rent, transportation, and basic food in the house. Groceries are bought once a week with house money and volunteers are welcome to cook from this food. Most volunteers also supplement with small purchases of their own.

Our volunteer team is usually 10-15 people from all over the world. We require a minimum of 3 weeks, but many volunteers stay several months. The volunteers are crucial to our projects, they help with food prep and cleaning in the shelters, as well as kids projects and medical support. We have community Projects as well, focusing on lower income neighborhoods in our town.
Every day is different, we have shifts in the shelters, as well as community projects, which could include teaching English or math, cooking and serving lunch, or playing soccer for a couple hours.
Our volunteer code of conduct includes a dress code while on projects, as we are delivering professional humanitarian aid, a strict no-drugs policy, as well as a no-alcohol policy in the house or during the work week. These rules will be very clearly discussed and agreed to before a volunteer is accepted to join our team.
