Detalhes

What we expect from volunteers

Volunteers are expected to help with the daily running of the shelter and work as part of a team. Tasks may include kennel cleaning, feeding, laundry, walking dogs, enrichment activities, socializing shy dogs, basic training support, and general shelter maintenance. Some days are physically active and can involve heat, rain, dirt, and lots of cleaning.

We ask volunteers to:

Be reliable and willing to help where needed
Treat the dogs with patience, kindness, and respect
Follow safety instructions and handling guidance
Be open to learning about dog behavior and positive reinforcement methods
Respect the local community, staff, and fellow volunteers
Communicate openly and work cooperatively as part of a team

No professional dog experience is required, but a genuine willingness to learn and participate is essential.

What volunteers can expect from us

In return, volunteers become part of our rescue family and gain hands-on experience working with rescue dogs in Thailand. We love sharing knowledge about dog behavior, body language, pack management, enrichment, and positive training methods.

Volunteers can expect:

A welcoming and supportive environment
Guidance and training from our team
Lots of interaction with dogs every day
Opportunities to learn about rescue work and animal welfare
Meaningful work that directly improves dogs’ lives
Shared experiences with international volunteers and staff
Plenty of muddy paws, tail wags, and unforgettable moments

Every dog has a different story, personality, and journey. Some are playful and social, while others need patience and confidence-building. Volunteers play a huge role in helping them feel safe, loved, and ready for their future homes.

2 . Dog-walking in blue zones only
Refer to the map below for blue zones where it is safe to walk dogs on lead. Please don't stray outside these zones
3. On-lead dogs must not be let off lead at any time
If you are walking a dog on lead, please don't let them off for any reason.
4. What to do in case of dog fight
In the unusual event of a dog fight, do not try to break up the fight yourself but wait for a member of shelter staff to intervene.
5. Return equipment to the place you found it
Dog leads, grooming equipment, toys, dog shampoo etc must be returned to the place you found it
6. Don't give dog treats to groups of dogs
Giving out dog treats to groups of dogs causes fights/aggression. Please only give out dog treats 1 on 1 or under the supervision of shelter staff

No matter how small the incident, please report to a member of shelter staff so it can be recorded. First Aid kits are located at the Clinic, Main Dog Kennels and in the Guest House
