My experiences were wonderful. Initially, it took some getting used to given my age and adaptability, but thanks to the patience of Vincent and Claire, as well as the Worldpackers who had already been working there longer, it was actually quite easy. The tasks were fairly easy and simple. They also didn't take long. In addition, it was nice to work together with other people. What surprised me is that we could use the amazing kitchen, that there was an ice machine, and that a car was available which we could use to do groceries or visit the local onsen....but no free drinks or events.

Vicent and Claire were great hosts. They were very accommodating and tried their best to make sure our stay was good. The volunteer tasks were straightforward. It was mainly cooking, housekeeping and cleaning during our stay. The area itself is surrounded by nature which we often went on a walk. Overall, highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience at the guest house! Vincent and Claire are wonderful hosts, and the lodge is very peaceful in the summer. Hours were always respected, and plenty of opportunity was provided to get groceries. I really enjoyed meeting the other volunteers. Don't expect a ton of activity outside of volunteer hours in the summer, but enjoy the hiking and peaceful countryside!

I stayed at the lodge during the low season, which is quieter compared to winter. I had my own little room in the attic, which allowed me to have my own space and relax when I wanted some alone time. The hosts made me feel at home from the very first day. Claire took me to the doctor and the pharmacy several times when I needed it, and she was always attentive and available. I'm very grateful for both. Since the area is a bit isolated, I would recommend coming with an international driving license so you can rent a car, and explore the beautiful surroundings.

Claire and Vincent were amazing hosts. They'd help us during our shifts, organize outings/game nights, drove us places & always willing to help! While here, I learned quite a lot of Japanese, and was able to try to make many different types of Japanese food :) During my free days, I also got to visit towns/cities like Niseko, Kutchan, Otaru, and Sapporo. I'd suggest getting your international license because they have an extra car, but I also found the bus totally fine :)

Had an amazing time at the guest house, it was such a nice peaceful and wholesome break away from my previous travels. Vincent and Claire were great hosts, who were very welcoming and helpful with any of our needs. It was great having an opportunity to ski, and see some of the local sites. I would be more than happy to come back again in the future, could not recommend this stay more!

Vincent and Claire are lovely people. They are always available if you need anything or have any questions. They even take you on weekly supermarket trips if you need groceries since the town is quite far from there. The job is pretty simple; mostly cleaning and preparing beds. I'd definitely recommend this experience and hope to meet them again someday.

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at the guest house. Although March is past the peak powder season in Niseko, it's still a great time to snowboard. I really loved spending this month here. Vincent and Claire are kind and supportive, always doing their best to make sure we had a great experience and felt welcome. The work is well organized with a clear schedule system, making everything easy to follow. The workload in March was manageable, leaving plenty of free time. Tasks are also easy to learn. I highly recommend this place, and I would love to come back again!
