I had a wonderful stay💖 the family welcomed me into their life and I also met their friends, all of whom were very sweet. I had plenty of opportunities to practice my the guest house, and got to see local events with the family! I had great meals, flexibility when it came to days off, and lots of free time. The house is charming, in traditional the guest house style, I loved hanging laundry to dry while watching the mountains. The place is rural but still has good services with groceries etc. I loved the evenings with everyone around the kotatsu and would definitely recommend this experience to others!

I had a good time here :) Its a nice place to see the river, do some hiking, to visit towns around, to join workshops, chill out or to work in your things :) The house is comfortable to stay! I enjoyed the guest house food at home, also we went to local restaurants. Michiyo and Yoshiho are flexible with the schedule and the tasks were fine. I wish your organization for the festival in May is going well! Hope you all family have a successful business and life :D Thanks for having me :)

I went to guesthouse nodokeya to help with videos for a few days and also with the guesthouse for a few other days - the hosts were kind, the food very good and they were always taking me to see new places. Mima city its not a big city so not a lot to do, but it's a great place to chill and get some work done from the nice coffeeshops. I work online, so for me it was perfect to focus. Sometimes the communication can be a bit challenging because the hosts are not completely fluent in english but they were so helpful that It's totally fine. thank you for everything guys <3

I've done 5 work exchanges and this was my favourite! The hosts are incredibly kind, hospitable, and generous. The work was easy and fair, I was never asked to do more than I agreed to. The home was beautiful and the room was comfortable. The guest house is in a very sweet historic town with a lot going on compared to other nearby towns - a few nice cafes, a library, an indigo dying workshop, a beautiful river. That being said, it's still a quiet rural place with few other english speakers, so I would only recommend if you enjoy time by yourself.

I'm extremely grateful and thankful to leave this comment to this wonderful family with whom I had the honor and pleasure of spending a few days in the city of Mima, Japan. I had a great experience. Yoshiyo is a wonderful person and a good man. He picked me up at the airport and showed me around the city during the flight. His wife, Michiyo, is a generous woman with many daily responsibilities, caring for the family. I stayed for a week and truly enjoyed meeting them and learning more about Mima's rich history.

Nodokeya is a great place for a therapeutic stay! The host Michiyo-san was very kind and cooked delicious food everyday - my favourite was the curry! The work was simple, and since the guesthouse was quiet while I was there, I had plenty of time to work on my own stuff. Mima is a beautiful town with super friendly locals and beautiful scenery. If you're a bit shy (like me) you might feel a bit awkward and self-conscious times ahaha. I still enjoyed the peace and slow the guest house. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Volunteering at Michiyo's house has been one of the best experiences of my trip to Japan. Michiyo and her family are very nice people, and they always made me feel at home. Everyone is very kind and always has the best disposition. I would be very happy to live the experience again, I highly recommend this volunteer program, it's perfect if you're looking for a balance between traveling, relaxing, helping the community, and socializing.

Mima is a really nice town surrounded by mountains, the perfect place if you're looking for a quiet place and lots of nature. Michiyo and Shibata welcomed me in a nice way, always available and kind! The food was so delicious too! I've got the chance to try lots of traditional the guest house food! The job itself is not difficult, it's about 2 hours a day! If you want to visit the surrounding areas keep in mind that the nearest train station is about 40 minutes away by walk. ☺ Thank you so much again for your hospitality and your kindness 🤗

First of ALL the Guesthouse FAMILY is so kind, respectful, friendly including the 3 boys kids :):):) The tasks & things to do daily is easy and the owners always traying to make your stay good and comfortable :) .The town is pretty and peaceful I really enjoy have long 2~3 hours walking around the city, rivers and mountains its reflashable also the history its cool :).The Owners couple are cool both artists in different ways like he is musician & she is doing many different kind of arts :) its amazing how the guest house & modern the guest house show up nowadays making me thinking how good working the owner

Have the chance to experience the local the guest house culture in Mima was fantastic. If you enjoy nature, quiet and peaceful environments that's the perfect place! The boys are also so sweet! Michiyo-san cooks delicious and tradicional food. It's also an incredible opportunity to learn an practice the guest house. The community in Mima is really kind and friendly. I love it and definitely want to visit them in the future.
