Loger avec Jan, Rafa, Volleys et de charmants animaux de compagnie n'aurait pas pu être plus agréable. Un endroit si paisible et accueillant pour être (peut-être que les singes hurleurs et les coqs n'étaient pas si paisibles, haha). Non, sérieusement, l'environnement et l'emplacement étaient super détendus et tranquilles. Aider Jan et Rafa avec le jardin et les animaux de compagnie et un peu de plomberie et de ménage a été un plaisir. Des horaires flexibles et une communication claire et compromis lorsque nécessaire ont rendu mes tâches agréables et enrichissantes. L'hébergement a également largement dépassé mes attentes. Six étoiles sur cinq.

La propriété elle-même est belle, paisible et entourée par la nature (juste un peu sale et il y a beaucoup de fourmis) Le travail est léger et gérable, principalement l'entretien du jardin, le balayage des feuilles et le nettoyage des villas. De plus, la communication avec l'hôte était difficile. Jan n'habite pas ici, et lorsque des problèmes survenaient, j'avais souvent le sentiment qu'il défendait fortement les travailleurs à long terme plutôt que de comprendre les bénévoles à court terme. La cuisine commune pouvait aussi être frustrante, car les plats sales restaient souvent dans l'évier sans que personne n'en prenne la responsabilité. L'emplacement est assez isolé

Ce n’est pas un hôtel cinq étoiles, chère Miki. Les bénévoles qui sont restés avec nous par le passé ont été heureux même avec des conditions plus basiques. Je te souhaite bonne chance et paix.
Les fourmis font partie de l’environnement—nous sommes dans la jungle. Si quelque chose est sale, cela peut être nettoyé. Nous comprenons que tu as fait du bénévolat en partie pour cela.
Gabriel était responsable des bénévoles. Il est habituellement un cœur et va souvent bien au-delà de ses responsabilités, ce qui incluait également de te fournir un transport gratuit.

House is beautiful with nice upper deck to chill. My personal space/room was very nice as well. Working hours were respected. Working tasks normal. I was helping cleaning and maintaining house and area around it. I really enjoyed my daily walks (mostly in shade) to the beach (about 20min) and further to Cahuita. Really easy to encounter lots wildlife in cahuita park ( donation based!!) and surrounding area as well. Sloths, big Iguanas, Koati, crocodiles, sea turtles, birds, frogs, monkeys, snakes, raccoons itc. Caribbean area I found really nice, chill and beautiful. Thankful .

I spent 2 weeks as a volunteer. The house has great potential, close to the sea and with great spaces. Unfortunately it is very dirty and unkempt and the owner doesn't seem to be interested. We didn't have tap water for a few days (the house's water reserve isn't proportional to the amount of people the house can accomodate). The working hours were respected but sometimes the work required may not be suitable for the volunteer. I was warned that many volunteers before me had left before the scheduled date and I don't understand why no one wrote a review. I hope the general conditions improve.

I gave 5 stars to this experience however I want to be honest so future volunteers have a good idea of what to expect upon arrival. The host in beginning can be a bit off putting but with time as you get to know him and he gets to know you he displays a lot of kindness. The work is fair and hours are respected. The property is beautiful and the host works hard to make sure volunteers have clean water to drink and gas for cooking your meals. I would come back here and feel I created a great relationship with the host. Make sure you hike the mountains, visit beaches and the national park.

My experience was really incredible! The place is very nice and the work is not difficult, Rafa is a wonderful person always available and attentive to your needs as well as very good company. The beach is 3 km away and can be reached either on foot or by bus, very nice! I am happy with my experience, thank you very much

This place has set the bar very high in my opinion. The house and the owners are wonderful. The stay was great, and after three weeks it almost felt like home.

It was our first volunteering experience, and we couldn't imagine a better start. Rafa, who takes care of the villa, is a really nice and warm person. Even with the language barrier, he was kind and patient with us. Jobs weren't hard, gardening, sanding, and painting. We were happy to have a private room with a bathroom, and the kitchen area was equipped with everything you needed. Garden was a paradise. Cahuita was about 4km away, we recommend renting bicycles. I am grateful for this experience. Thank you very much.

It was a nice experience at the finca. We worked exactly 3h/day -1day off- and the tasks were varied and tailored to the person. Rafa is the one who live in the finca and building it, he give us as well the work. he was very nice, showed us everything about garden, construction and support us with his organic food that grows in the garden. Jan was not there but he was very responsive, whenever there was a question. After work you can do what you want, the beach is close and the jungle behind the finca. There are also cute cats and dogs on the finca. We will defenetly recomment to work here
