I had a great time at the hostel! The team is amazing and made me feel welcome since day one. It was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and it really met my expectations! Gerardo and Flori are very kind hearted and will help you with whatever it is you need. Yami will cook amazing meals and always manage to make us laugh. Randall was making sure I felt welcome and comfortable. And Tony ensured that us volunteers had a great time! The work is easy and not so demanding, with flexible hours and free time to get to know Costa Rica. Overall a great experience that I recommend! <3

I really loved my stay at gardens house because it doesn't even feel like you are working at a hostel. It feels like you are part of the family. Everyone made me feel welcomed and at home right away and the tasks you have to do are not a lot of work. I was here mainly to paint and clean which worked great for me. They are very flexible with your free days so you can even take more days at once to go somewhere nice in Costa Rica which is really nice of them. Randall, Yami, Tony, Flori and Gerardo are all wonderful people that made this stay very special and fun and I will miss them a lot.

My time as a volunteer at Gardens the hostel was truly unforgettable. It was my very first Volunteer experience and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to start. From the very beginning Randall, Gerardo, Flori and Yami welcomed me with so much kindness that I immediately felt like a part of the family. That special atmosphere made my stay incredibly meaningful. The work at the hostel was also a very positive experience. I was guided with so much patience, understanding and trust, which meant really a lot to me. A huge thank you for this amazing time! Pura Vida!

My time at the hostel has been one of the most unforgettable experiences during my stay in Costa Rica. Everyone in this little family at the hostel was incredibly kind to me. From the very first day I arrived, they cared about how I was adjusting to life here and checked in on me every day. Here, I learned from Randall's dedicated attitude toward work — he took great care of me and gave me many helpful suggestions. Geraldo was always patient with me and taught me a lot of "useful " Spanish. Flori's warm smile and amazing cooking made me look forward to every single day. PURAVIDAAA:)

I can not describe it well enough in words, but i will try. I felt very welcomed from the first minute I arrived. The next 2 month working there were a lot of fun, they took much time to explaine me everything and were very patient with the mistakes I made. Its also a very clean place, they clean everyday and in general they try their best for you to have the best expierience. I can only recommend this place to you so much, you will also have an awesome time. And dont be afraid that its located in Alajuela, you will be able to explore costa rica perfectly. This was my first time using world packers and traveling solo to another country and I am beyond grateful for the hostel to be my first experience! This hostel is family run and when you work for them they treat you like you are a part of the family.Each person there has a unique skillset and thing that they can teach you.This was also my first time being a hostel receptionist and they were very patient with the mistakes that I made.I loved it so much that I will be returning again very soon. My experience volunteering at this hostel was awesome for it being my nerve racking first time participating in one. I totally recommend trying this volunteer opportunity with them if you are wanting to start small steps towards growth in your personal development as an individual and work wise. I had very little knowledge in working, a bit introverted and learnt a lot in the end. They treated me warmly, with care and made feel like part of the family. I am really grateful for all I learnt with this team and got to help out in their hostel. Much love to all of you. May we meet again.

Tuve 6 semanas maravillosas en el hostel, estoy muy agradecida de lo bien que me recibieron y el cariño que me entregaron. Me sentí cómoda y parte de la familia en cada momento, las tareas son muy sencillas y los días de trabajo son flexibles dando espacio para conocer Costa Rica. Son muy atentos para responder cualquier duda que tengas y brindarte ayuda en lo que necesites. el hostel tiene una energía muy linda, que transmiten alegría y tranquilidad gracias a Flori, Gerardo, Randall y Yami que es un excelente cocinera!. Sin duda volveré cuando tenga la oportunidad 🫶🏼

Estuve un mes en el hostel y fue como estar en mi propia casa. El ambiente es muy familiar y acogedor. Las tareas de recepción y limpieza son sencillas y no quitan demasiado tiempo. Son flexibles con los horarios y los días de trabajo para que el voluntario pueda disfrutar y conocer Costa Rica y te aconsejan que visitar, que hacer y como llegar a los sitios. Ahora sé que tengo una familia en Costa Rica! Gracias Randall, Gerardo, Flori y Yami♥️

El hostel es una experiencia realmente increíble, se aprende muchísimo, la familia son personas maravillosas, realmente lo recomiendo al 100%, una experiencia grata y acogedora.
