I had a great time at Chris's project! My boyfriend and I stayed in a big yurt all to ourselves (and Josi-Jo 🐈⬛). There were a few spiders, bugs, and we used a dry toilet outside, but overall, it was good! We worked mostly in the garden—helping with wood, weeding, and planting. Breakfast and lunch were shared, and I got to cook a lot 🥰. Everyone was super friendly! They invited us to celebrate Thanksgiving, and Chris took us to a pizzeria and a local market 😇. Big thanks to Chris and his community!

It's a beautiful and calm place in nature. The work is not difficult and the people are very welcoming and calm. after 2 weeks i felt at home here:)

My time in Várzea was really nice. I meeted very good people. It is a nice community. Chris is a really good and kind man, at the same Shaun and Damond, they maked my days there a friendly experience. Thanks for be pacientes whit my poor english, and share to me your space and your time.

I had a lovely time at Várzea, it was peaceful and warm. Chris was a great host with good communication and gave us tasks within the garden and helping out on the land in the morning which is great for learning about how life adapts to different climates. I also met two other volunteers my age who I got along with well and I really recommend going here, it was a great second Worldpackers experience. Also dinner is included which isn't on this website, all 3 meals can be cooked by yourself as Chris buys new ingredients. I found the wildlife a little challenging but it was fine.

I felt very safe and welcome to this experience. Working with too English speaking, easy going but hard working men. Chris was very accommodating and pleasant to work with, always working together was really nice for the team spirit. I had my own place to stay in which was also such a luxury. We even had a social evening with neighbour's making food in the fire oven which was cool to be a part of. Everyone was really lovely.

La mia esperienza a Várzea è stata eccellente!! Fin dal primo contatto, Chris è stato disponibile, cortese e ricettivo. Durante il mese, purtroppo è piovuto molto, quindi abbiamo svolto poche attività, come potatura e pittura, oltre ad aiutare altre persone che risiedono nella proprietà. Várzea è un piccolo villaggio, dove ho avuto contatti con tutti, in particolare Chris (ovviamente), Maeve, Agar, Shan e Ian. Sono grata per le esperienze e gli scambi condivisi con ciascuno di loro. Ho alloggiato in una yurta e Chris forniva il cibo per tutti i miei pasti, di cui ero responsabile della preparazione.

Chris y Sean fueron muy cordiales y cálidos al recibirnos. Los horarios son respetados y las tareas algunas son de esfuerzo físico y otras tranquilas en el jardín, tienes la tarde libre por lo que puedes descansar. Es un lugar para sumergirte en la naturaleza y la vida de campo.

O Chris é uma pessoa de mentalidade jovem, isso com certeza trás muita leveza, fizemos alguns passeios, ele me levou para a praia, tomamos vários cafés, também tive a oportunidade de conhecer alguns moradores locais, pessoas muita agradáveis e educadas, enquanto estime na várzea tive a Oportunidade de realizar muitas tarefas que eu já sabia pois aprendi na minha infância, isso foi ótimo pois facilitou meu trabalho, me dando a oportunidade de ser eficiente…consegui ensinar português para o Chris, ele ficou quase fluente. 😅 obrigada por me receber!

Me encantó está experiencia, conocí maravillosas personas amables y comprometidas con el proyecto. Me gustó mucho la aldea permacultural y estoy muy agradecida con Criss y Jhon por su hospitalidad. Fue muy divertido estar ahí. Lo súper recomiendo.
