Spending time and teaching english to the kids was really fun. There were two groups. The second one was a bit bigger with 10-15 kids, so we were glad there were two of us, so we could handle the group better and split them in two if necessary. We had totaly freedom in how and what to teach. the eco village and his family were really welcoming and gave us there house for the whole three weeks, which is really simple but has everything you need. On the weekends we were able to explore the nature around the community. You have to cook your own food, which you can buy in the next city one hour away.

It was a good, interesting and immersive experience. You teach in the community (20-25min to walk) and in the family's house. Teaching in the community was quite challenging for me because some kids aren't very motivated. But teaching the kids of the family &their neighbours was fun. I recommend bringing some paper & pencils with you. If you want to make an activity with the host, make sure how much you have to pay, there was some confusion. Every day I ate with the family & could experience their simple way of living. Nelly & the whole family were very caring & I learnt a lot of Spanish :)

I really enjoyed my time at the project! The only issue for me was that we lived far away from the project and internet was scarce, therefore communicating was a bit of a difficulty at times, yet we spoke with the host in great length about this problem. I will never forget about the children at the school and the teaching was by far my favorite part of the exchange! I also thank the project for the fantastic tours we had! Unforgettable!

This experience was amazing. I really loved teaching the kids and getting to know them. We got a house to live in and there was three other volunteers in the house with me, it was perfect because we really helped each other out with the different tasks. Our host took us on some really beautiful hikes and we sometimes ate with him and the family. It was hard to say goodbye to all the kids in the end and to the beautiful jungle. But I will recommend people going here it's a really good experience ✨

I came here thinking about just the kids and teaching them english. But leaving them , was probably the hardest thing. i cried and we cried and it's all love . and i'm going to come again because they are not just people who live in the amazon who need help to me. They my friends and they treat me like family and i'm going to come here again. I made connections that i never thought of making. especially because i'm not the best spanish speaker but they bare with me and tried to teach me their native language but the pronunciations are crazy. and if you decide to come here , come with an open~

That was an immersive experience to go in this place, I had to teach English and French to a group of kids for 2 weeks and it was my first time doing that, I'm glad I went through this opportunity who happened to be both amazing and tough.. Haha, a great challenge, and also to express myself in Spanish! the eco village and his family were really nice people, a pleasure to meet them and to learn more about another culture! I get inspired by new ideas and lifestyle now :)

Our experience was good. We arrived around 7:30 pm, so it was dark. the eco village changed the arrival location last minute, however, the new location was 25 minutes walk from the original place. the eco village and Nelly welcomed us in a very gentle manner, they even clocked something for us. The place where we stayed was not the best, an unfinished house with no covering on the windows and opening on doors, so all type of insects were able to come in. Nevertheless, we found a way to make the place feel like home (thanks to Elisabet). The outdoor shower was good! The kids are nice and we enjoyed teaching them

Mi experiencia en la Amazona estuvo genial. La gente, la naturaleza, y los niños eran maravillosos. Aprendí mucho de la comunidad de Pachacutik. Y deberás senti como era aparte de la vida allí. Desafortunadamente, que no me puede quedar más tiempo. Pero era un trabajo de voluntario que se va quedar con migo para siempre.

Fui recibido muy cálidamente por la familia y pensé de inmediato: wow, estoy en la Amazonía. Después de pasar unos días en casa, nos dirigimos a la comunidad, donde pude alojarme con otra familia. Esta familia también fue muy acogedora y logré crear una bonita conexión con los niños. Luego impartí varias clases de inglés y educación física a diferentes grupos de edad, entre 8 y 14 años. Para mí fue un desafío, ya que mi nivel de español era básico, pero estoy muy feliz de haber aceptado el reto, porque aprendí muchísimo y recibí comentarios muy positivos tanto del equipo como de los niños.

Fue una linda experiencia para mi compartir con la familia del proyeto y Nelly, involucrarme en sus tareas diarias, ayudar en el trabajo con las plantas y aprender de las artesanías que realizan Nelly y los niños. La amazonia es un lugar hermoso y se aprende mucho con su gente. Si bien la casita está en obra, tuve mi propio espacio en una carpa dentro de la casa. Lo más complicado para mi fue el baño, ya que la ducha se encuentra directamente en el río.. Aun así pude disfrutar y compartir mucho con la familia. Muy agradecida.
