Ho avuto un'ottima esperienza. La comunicazione con l'ospite è stata buona e c'erano due opzioni: restare con la sua famiglia e aiutare lì, oppure aiutare a scuola. Sono insegnante, quindi ho scelto l'opzione 2. Devo dire che la parte più lunga è stata arrivare in questa località, poiché è lontana dalla città e bisogna contare sugli autobus per raggiungere la destinazione. Ma una volta arrivato, la signora Rita mi ha accolto nella sua casa. Il giorno successivo ho frequentato la scuola e fin dall'inizio tutti sono stati molto rispettosi e gentili con me. Ho insegnato ai bambini piccoli dalla Kinder fino alla quarta elementare e mi sono divertito molto!

Il soggiorno presso Communidad Pachakutik è stato speciale in molti modi. Anche se l'esperienza non è stata facile, l'alloggio e il cibo sono relativamente basilari e, personalmente, mi sono ammalato diverse volte — è davvero gratificante. Essendo volontario, hai l'opportunità di osservare e interagire con una vera comunità Kewcha. Sono stato/a con Rita durante la settimana, e il progetto e la sua famiglia durante i fine settimana, il che per me è stata la combinazione perfetta. All'arrivo, il progetto ti offrirà molte opzioni su dove e come vorresti restare, e lui è molto flessibile in questo senso. Sono molto grato. Yupaychani

16 days at the project teaching english and this volunteering truly offered the most authentic experience. I had the privilege to stay with Rita. She is one of the most friendly person I've met in my life. She would make me try tons of food, bring me to cool spots so I can learn about the region and has been truly good at heart with me my whole stay. I have been a whole member of the family, participating in day to day tasks and hobbies. A true rustic Kechwa community, celebrating humanity & eager to share knowledge about culture, wisdom and medicinal plants. Muchas Gracias, Pakra chu! 🫂🌋❤

This volunteering experience has really been amazing. It's a real amazonian life experience, living with a local family, perfect to know the culture, local stories and live like they do in the amazon rainforest. I quickly felt part of the family. Nelly and Yaku, and their kids, are always there for everything you need and to organize the work based on what you can do. I slept in a fully equipped tent that was big enough for me and all my stuff. For the rest you live just the same comodities as them and the teaching is just as any school in the world: challenging but rewarding!Muchas gracias!:)

My experience in the project was amazing. Just being there is already interesting, the work and the free time activities were only the extra. The work is fun, there is high variety in the tasks and working with Nelly who has an incredibly positive attitude can't be bad. It's located far from literally everything but the hikes nearby are wowww Muchas gracias por todo!! Espero que nos encontremos en el futuro

The experience was challenging, but definitely worth it. Challenging because the place is located in the middle of the jungle, therefore accommodation is basic (but at least you get a feel of what it really feels like living in the jungle!), and the nearby shops only sell the bare amenities (bread, dried beans, etc.). The teaching itself, though, is rewarding. The kids at the project are keen to learn, and teaching them is a joy. Their level of English is basic, so we mostly played vocabulary games such as mime, hangman, or matching pairs. Seeing them make progress is the best reward!

I really had a great experience at the Yaku the project, the family made me feel like home and I really loved playing with children. It's a great opportunity to connect with nature and to get to know more about the community and how they live. When it comes to the English classes, the level is basic and you are free to do it on your own style, in my case I did a mix of class and games to practice what we saw. I hope to be back one day thank you!

In complete a experience I can fully recommend! My work was a mix of handyman, teaching and painting and I enjoyed it a lot. Only thing I was missing, was the cultural exchange. the project and his family are living quite far away from the volunteer house and the school. So I was not able to connect as much with the family, as I would have liked!

Staying at the project was a great experience. But there are some improvements to do. For example, the communication isn't perfect. You might feel a little lost sometimes with your tasks and nobody to guide you. On the other hand, these are good moments to add your personal touch and ideas. Another thing is that the project is 20 minutes away from the community walking. That very point can make exchange with the family rare for some volunteers. However, if you make an effort to go to the family house, you will meet some great people, share meals and culture, and live memorable moments.

This was a very special and immersive experience for me. the eco village, Nelly and the kids were very welcoming and I soon found myself integrated into their small community. The volunteers are essentially given total freedom to deliver classes as they wish, so I enjoyed creating lesson plans with the children to study topics they wanted to learn. For those looking to leave a positive impact while having a meaningful cultural exchange, I highly recommend this experience!

Grazie per l'osservazione... ma quella era l'idea. Creare questa necessità, ma prima dovevamo incentivare affinché si interessassero ad imparare l'inglese... abbiamo avuto diversi suggerimenti e crediamo che sia giunto il momento di passare al secondo passo. Realizzeremo 2 gruppi nel secondo gruppo di bambini.
